LaBlue's Taxidermy in Adams, MA. He does a great job. He has done several deer for me, plus bear rug, turkey fan mounts, antler plaques, etc.... Great people.

How bout them Big Buck's! That came out real nice. So what's on your hit list now a double drop tine? Got him back pretty quick. You start planning your addition yet? LOL

Deerdawg, I have had another monster on camera in that area for the past 3 seasons.... last season he was a nice 11 point. Season before he was a 13 point. He is usually there up until the end of Sept and then disappears. Sometime cruises through a random night during the rut. I can't really move on him with my limited area to hunt. There are 2 massive private properties that it abuts back to back that is absolutely out of the question to hunt. Unfortunately. I am limited to my small spot and hope for luck. Luckily though, the deer generally funnel through my area, so I usually get a shot at a good buck each season there (knock on wood). I will not be holding out for something of this caliber! haha the first good buck I see gets it. I have shot 4 bucks from this stand over the past 3 years. A 200lb 8 that i had mounted, another mature buck (a big old 6 with nub brows), a nice 8 last season, and this monstrosity. I also missed another nice 6 point last year similar to the 8 I shot last season there. I don't recall ever getting a pic of this buck in year's past... but you never know. I do recall a nice 8 on cam 4 years ago that may have had a similar right side with a considerable smaller g2 than g3 on that side, but i don't have those old pics anymore and he looked to be a 3.5 year old then... could it be?!?! So, it's a good little spot. I don't see many deer.... at all, but when I do they seem to be good ones.

Sounds like u have a hot spot! lets hope it stays hot! You are in a Big Buck area out there so I would imagine being in a pinch spot sooner or later the big boys are going to come through. Big wood + Big Deer! I have had a few money spots like that over the years, but being in suburbia things can change real fast! I hunt kinda hunt the same 5-6 areas and the woods is nowhere near as big as out west. I might see a reaaly nice buck once every other year on average. I don't really target them in general, that is until I see a monsta then I go crazy obsessing over him! We had this one reaally big typical 8 that we all spotted over a 4 year run we called him RAGER. I dogged him one day in the pouring rain during BP. Jumped him 3 different times and shot at him, he was a ghost! One of the best times I ever had hunting and I did not get him. He busted me bowhunting twice by coming up behind me with the wind. We stared eyball to eyball, he seemed to know it was archery season! My Oldest son shot him in the chest , a front on shot, needless to say we tracked him all night and never recovered, he was back the next year for more play. I'm getting so excited to see what this year will bring for opportunity. Got 4 cameras working now. Hope you get a crack at him Ungie!

Thanks Deerdawg. I hope you catch up to Rager! Would be a very cool story. I certainly am not a big buck hunter. I base my expectations on what I have on camera for that season. If there is a big one consistently, or a couple of quality smaller bucks, I may pass on the 1.5 year old's, but it varies year to year. I just like to hunt and eat deer and every season is different. I run cams in my usual spots and just set my expectations from there... Knowing full well, a big buck could stroll through eventually... like this year, I certainly am not a trophy hunter... just lucky I guess.

Ungie, I agree with your thoughts on chasing Big Bucks, better to be lucky than good some times! Best to be both! I guess part of the thrill of the hunt, is leaving some things up to chance. During archery the last few years, I have stopped chasing and been much more relaxed, passing on less mature deer, not over hunting a stand, Learning to be patient, you know good things come to those that learn patience! You don't have to be a "trophy hunter" to have shot some beautiful deer. That's a true Hunter! in my mind anyway. Cant wait to check cameras! lol How bout them big bucks!
