I've got some new stands to put up any thoughts on how late into the summer I should wait to hang them

Depends if you know where you want them already. If so,. It doesn't hurt to do it now other than you will probably have to trim things later.

Private land you could do it now, but public land I'd simply prep the tree you have in mind and hang the stand the day you decide to hunt that spot...unless you can stomach your stand "growing legs" on ya. Too many unscrupulous types these days to leave expensive hardware out in the woods:(

Never prepped a tree before? Pretty simple, ya scurry up the trunk hang the stand, take a look around and nip a branch here and there, take the stand back down, and mark it on your map or gps for future reference. Pretty simple and noninvasive..

I would do it now before it`s 90 degrees out with 90% humidity and mosquitos out the wahzoo.

I try to stay out of the deer woods during fawning....you should be good to go.

Take caution hanging stands this early. Sun, weather, and rodents could render your stand unsafe by hunting season.
