3rd set of 5 missed one arrow. However they were all over the target. Shooting into a 20mph slightly crossing headwind. Thats it for today.

Man - I know that's not as tight as last year, but it's still dang impressive!

I'd post my 100 yard group to make you feel better, but 1. I can't afford to lose that many arrows and 2. There would be no group to take a picture.

Soon as I get to the range I’ll post some 100’s. I’m not sick of it. I’ll be practicing at 50 all summer. I’m hunting in Wyoming in September and you don’t get too many 20’s out there.

I’m not sick of it at all. 100 yards without a gun or crossbow I’m extremely impressed and I throw a bunch of arrows @ 50 plus. Keep posting.

Pretty awesome, man! I never really practice outside of 40 yards partially because of confidence and partially because I don't have any setups with shots even close to that long. Out of curiosity what's the longest shot you'd take/have taken on an animal?

drslyr, My biggest buck was shot at 37. And that's the only deer I've ever killed past the high 20's :)! He gave me a perfect opening between two hemlocks and it was my only chance, so I took it... That year though I was shooting a lot and felt very good out there. I could kill soda can's consistently at 50, so I felt ok with the shot and situation. I'd not try it the last few years, my practice habits just wouldnt support that kind of shooting.

I killed an antelope at 50 plus and a caribou at 40 plus. Both shots I practice all summer as I knew I'd be hunting wide open terrain. All whitetail have been 30 and under, mostly way under. Some straight down. It pays to practice long range if you have the room. It's also your mind set, at least it is for me. If I know I'm hunting out west, I think long. Here on the east coast there are very few senarios where I'd take a 40 or 50 yard shot at a whitetail.

My only thing i screw up sometimes is having the sight set for 100 and forget to change it when i shoot 40 or 60. You can usually kiss that arrow goodbye! A couple of em are still orbiting the earth.

Lol drslyr I do that too often. Not from 100, but forget to change the sight when switching distances. Started out last summer with 8 arrows, I have 4 left. All were broken or lost forgetting to change yardage.

Guess that's one reason they make those sights with 5+ pins. I have 3 and really could get by with 2 given my setups.

Once huntin starts I'm locked at 25.

I changed back to a 5 pin and loven it. I to have lost arrows with the single pin ,never again
