Replenished the Venison stock today!

So I had an opportunity a year ago to hunt a nursery in CT year round. I decided to give the permit to my hunting buddy since he is retired and I thought it would be a nice way to say thank you for teaching me how to hunt. Well, he called me this morning and asked if I would be around today to butcher a deer. Well, hell ya I will be around! Not a big one, but its meat. Can't be picky because the owner of the nursery wants them gone when they show up.

I canned four quarts of stew meat, have a gallon bag full of hamburger, and another bag of roast meat. Dale took a bunch of backstrap and the remainder of the meat has been nicely packaged for the owner of the property; gotta stay in his good graces :) Pete

Very nice. We get depredation tags in CT sometimes. Allows us to hunt the farm property a month early. Didn’t know they had year round tags. Good luck.
