I'm hoping to make it to the 5C doe hunt this year. I've already sent in my regular application for my home WMU and I was planning on sending my 1st round unsold for that one also.
That gets my first application for 5C in the 2nd round of unsold licenses on 8/19. Do I still have a good chance of getting one then?

You can send for 5C, in the first round of unsold - along with you other one for your home WMU. (yes, they let you do this as it's special reg's area. Just include a second app and a second check for that one). Don't wait for the 2nd round of unsold.... it could be too late.

I just called the Treasurer's office and they said if there are plenty of tags left for the WMU's you are applying for, there is no need for 2 checks. (I guess the only problem would be if one of the WMU's had few tags left and you do not get one, and did not put a second choice on your application) Then they would not be able to cash your check since it would be for more than what you owe them.

John, I think there are still a lot of folks that don't know you can apply for 5C tags when you apply for "regular" WMU tags. ANd thus they wait for 2nd round unsold.

I mailed mine on Monday it was awarded in the Lackawanna Co Tres when I checked yesterday. That was for 3c. They have always been quick for me.. Ed

I put mine in the mail Sat. and was awarded my tags before 10am on Monday. I would tell you where, but that is a closely guarded secret.........................................after years of experimentation with different Co. Treasurers! ;-)
I'm hoping this is the last year we have to jump thru hoops.................................

I bet the DMA area are places folks don't care to hunt. In the past 4A would sell out quickly. 5B was given a lot of licenses and there are a lot unsold so far.

Well, it's only gotten stranger.
I sent two applications in for 5C. I got a pink envelope back with one of my applications and a check for 5C back with a note that my "personal limit reached for this round" and no tag for the check they did cash.

What County Treasurer did you send to? I would call them first thing Monday and ask for an explanation! They should know the rules....................
I sent in 2 envelopes to the same county treasurer. One had a 2D application and two 5C apps. The other had three 5C apps. They were all awarded within 10 min of each other. No problems.

The thing that surprised me the most, was that they didn't send the 5C tag that was awarded.

For some reason certain Co. Treasurers hold onto them and don't sent them out right away. I just got my tag from the first round on Friday.

2 5C tags awarded. I hope I can shoot my bow in time for this hunt.
2 months ago I slipped on some wet steps and landed full force on my left arm. I didnt break anything but it put a major hurting on the tricep and tendons. I tried drawing my bowfishing rig ( has a much lighter draw) but can only get it back 2/3 draw.

Sent individual envelopes to different counties to see which ones do the best job at processing. I can tell you that it ain't Montgomery. The other county treasures had awarded my tags from Tuesday to Thursday of last week. Not one of the three sent to Montgomery has been processed.

You guys can also add Bucks County to the "no send" list. They -WERE- good, now just as terribly slow as the rest. They make the number one in do not send list, under Montgomery County.

I must have someone in Montgomery County who really likes me, I guess. I sent both 1st and 2nd round there, and both tags were issued within 2 days. They are both currently sitting in my license holder, ready to be affixed to the first 2 doe that walk by my stand.
As a matter of fact, I have application #3 ready to go....guess where I'm sending it? :)
