Jut use your phone. ONX or GAIA will work. And cost you a lot less.

I use both OnX and my garmin, forget the model. The garmin is becoming my "extra just in case"... OnX is just awesome with the aerial/topo overlay and property lines. It's a very worthwhile investment.

I have the 64ST. My only gripe is it very sensitive and thinks you are on the move more when you are when you are on a sit and and doing normal fidelity stuff on stand. My old etrex hcx was rock solid in that respect. Battery life is decent, I don’t sync it my phone. Easier to pull texts off the phone and it eats away at battery life.

Thanks fuys im funna look into some of those. I tried a free trial of ONX this spring and love the info it has but my phone has terrible service in the actual woods so it wouldnt always work. Thats why im leaning toward an actual new gps. All the over lays of ONX and the info it gives ia great though, thats for sure. Ill let you guys know what I pick.

You don’t need service for ONX.....you download the map and it’s on your phone. Your phone will work for gps with no cell service. Try it for yourself.....just turn on airplane mode when you’re on your maps and you’ll see. ;)

I haven't turned on my GPS since I've fallen in love with OnX. I pay for the premium subscription. I use it in the Midwest when deer hunting. I store everything on it. Worked great on my Moose hunt in Newfoundland. No cell service and worked perfectly. Battery usage wasn't bad at all.
Save your money and use your phone. My opinion.

Like others have said. Download the OnX app, buy your subscription. I used it almost exclusively on our hunt in MT last year and have lived on it planning/scouting for my ME moose hunt this fall. Download the maps (very easy to do) ahead of time and put it on airplane mode when there is no signal

Hmmm it must have just been my phone having issues (its a crappy walmart smart phone cost like $40, sucks on general). I thought it worked like that but now that I know for sure ill probably upgrade my phone and just buy OnX. Thanks fuys, youre awesome as always and appreciate the help!

Garmin Oregon is awesome but get the one that has t at the end of the number. The Montana SUCKS! I've had both, I like to go backpacking.
