Has anyone hunted the Cherokee PHA? If so do you have any tips on hunting this public land? Is it populated with deer?

I have turkey hunted Cherokee some. A good number of turkey hogs and deer. Not sure about deer season but a lot of people turkey hunting the first week or 2 of the season. The roads are awful. Hilly terrain but not awful. You should be able to have some success. Good Luck

There are good deer on this public land. Find an area away from other hunters,but don't overlook areas close to roads. It is not always necessary to walk a mile to find the right spot.

I have not deer hunted the area in over 15 years. I know a few guys that still do. Sorry any info I would have is out dated.

Game Warden told me last season that they wont be out in the plots, but that was during gun season. Do you think its the same during Archery? What do you think i should be more focused on?

I have hunted it. Best bet is look for big white oaks if you can. Don't hunt the food plots, get back in the woods away from people.
