23,000 this year vs. about 30,000 last year I believe.

I didn’t draw, but didn’t put in either. But I’m headed to Colorado in 2020. 30 years since my last Elk hunt.

These tags are a true lottery. No preference. I kind of wish they were like the wolf tags that have some preference tags and some lottery. That way people that have been applying have some advantage but anyone can start applying and still have a chance. This would be more valuable as the number of tags slowly increase in years to come.

They contact the winners. Last year Kevin Wallenfang called each personally. Guessing he did again this year.
