Heading to Colorado next week on a scouting trip since I didn't draw a tag this year. Would like to do a little fishing while I'm there. Curious if the non resident small game license I had to buy when applying allows me to fish? Or do I have to spend more money for a fishing license. Everything I am seeing online makes me believe I need to buy the fishing license too but would like to confirm before I spend the money.

You’ll need to buy a fishing license.

You do not need a fishing license but it will be expensive if you get caught without one ;)

A NR BIG game license includes an annual fishing license, but expires March 31, so even if you hunted last year, that one has expired. But if you buy a current elk license and hunt, you can fish too!

But with only a small game license, you can hunt small game. They don't give away a fishing license with that one.

Rivers are dropping and the fish are in new pockets all over. Had a fun day today and my son landed his first fish with fly gear. Copper Johns under a hopper were working.
