In Marinette county I see way more does without fawns around them. Out of 30 or 40 does I've seen, I have only seen two fawns. I have seen more bucks than fawns this year. Hopefully this is not a sign of a hard winter. I don't know. I just got a couple cameras out today. Hopefully I will pick some up.

Last Winter was quite moderate over nearly all the northern forest units.

Just got back from up North. Surprised by the numbers of doe with fawns. Anecdotally, saw more doe with twins than I can remember. Barron, Washburn, Sawyer, Bayfield.
A lot of that was driving. Though we saw doe with twins in the woods and paddling too.

Around my place (So.Washburn Co.) I've only seen a doe with one fawn. I've seen a number of does in groups with no fawns. Hard to say if it was the winter or predators.

I've been seeing far more twins with does than normal in the u.p. Recently im spending alot of time in tornado damage areas from pelican lake to mountain and seem to see tons of does and bucks but few fawns. I'll likely end up hunting that area this year as we'll be working there a while. Hopefully tornadoes didn't harvest all the big boys

Lots of does with twins and lots with singles between my house and my cabin in Phillips. More so the closer to Phillips (Price County). You have to realize, we had the Month of February for winter, that was it. Prior to that the deer had easy movement where ever they wanted to go for feed except for the far North Eastern county's.

Finally seeing some fawns. Cameras picked up some the past couple days. Been out cutting firewood and seen a few nice bucks also.

I've seen a healthy number of does with twins on my travels in Vilas and Forest counties this summer.
At my folks place (Vilas cty), there are three does with fawns. One with twins. Second had twins, but one was killed by a car and third with a single fawn. Mile down the road, two more does with twins.
Snow stuck around awhile, but from what I've seen in the car, on foot, and cutting trees around the cabin, the deer appear to have come through ok.
