Broadhead conundrum

So, for the last 3 years I've used the Grim Reaper Carni-four Pro series mechanicals and ended up taking 2 bucks with them. They did their job wonderfully on a quartering away deer (liver and stomach facing me and opposite lung) and a double lung. I'm shooting higher poundage (70lbs) and heavier low profile arrows. Trying to decide whether to stay with mechs or go fixed. I'm looking at Grim Reaper mechs, Grim Reaper fixed, Muzzy fixed, or maybe trying the SEVR mechs. I do both ground hunting (in a ghillie) as well as tree stand.
I know, I know, why ask this question when you'll get a different answer from everyone...well, I'm just torn and an answer or two might steer me in a better direction. Going to the pro shop tomorrow too, but just want opinions.
...plus, I like opinions from true archery nuts that really know hunting.
What is it that you hope to gain? Accuracy? Confidence? You are the only one that can answer those questions. If you have lost confidence in your broadhead, consider a switch. If not, stick with what has worked for you. No harm in shooting a couple different broadheads at a foam target to see if there is any improvement. Good luck!
I use Exodus BH and never have to think about them.
I have been using Grim Reapers for quite awhile now. Started with their mechanicals on turkeys with great results. So, 2 years ago I switched to their fixed blades for whitetails. Happy thus far. I've tried numerous fixed blades and various mechanicals over the years.
My set up this year for elk was using Maxima Reds and I switched to Magnus Black Hornets. I was shocked how true the Black Hornets flew and only had to make a very slight rest adjustment to get them to group with field tips.
Personally I am totally sold on the Black Hornets. At 70 lbs you have the correct setup for mechanicals, they really were not meant for low poundage setups. For deer, either mechanical or fixed is more than adequate. Personally I am a "fixed guy"....in more ways than one....lol
Fixed blades for a few reasons. Most importantly penetration, and because they do not deflect off bone like I have seen with mechanicals.
Are you going to hunt from a blind and shoot through the mesh. If so test that.
I had a similar debate a 2 years ago. I decided to switch to Grim Reaper hybrid and now I down worry either way. I do not shoot them through mesh though

Whats a low profile arrow????
Wensel woodsman...
Thanks for the suggestions. I don't use a blind, just sit on the ground in cover. Low profile arrow is like half the diameter of a "normal" arrow.
I did look at the Grim Reaper hybrids, and was intrigued. I might switch to a fixed. I just know at some point I don't want to lose a deer to bone deflection or not enough penetration, but I really like the ability of the mechs to help cover any mistakes. Thanks for the suggestions!
