Not what I was looking for this morning.
I was out looking for Elk to photograph but found nor heard a thing. On my way back home I saw a County Squad parked along HWY 77 near Ghost Lake road with his red and blues flashing. As I got closer I saw a bull elk in the ditch. I drove past and saw a pickup approaching from the west, it was the CO.
I turned around and went back to ask if it was a gunshot or roadkill. The Warden said they were not sure yet. But with the small hole bleeding out from the rib cage, no broken Auto parts or skid marks on the road...

Jeff, I was there just after the LEO arrived. To me, it looked like a gunshot but I didn't get close enough to be sure. It was right in the ditch along HWY 77 so my guess is that it was shot from a car.
