Taking my son to Cookson this weekend for a youth hunt. Scouted it but can’t decide where I want to hunt since he’s a ground hunter. Acorns everywhere and some of the forest floor is clean and other parts are briar thickets. Figure we’ll find a decent viewing spot and adjust from there. Anybody have any advice on this place? Tia

It has been years since I've been on it, but the meadows and clearings up on top (to the east if I remember) had a lot of good sign. Lots of rubs and scrapes. There are some big deer on the place.
