ok I'll start it again, lets see those Michigan trophies
First arrow I have flung on my land. We have way too many does and I have always eaten the out of state doe tag. We're covered now in case my son does not get one. The 1st pic is the doe on the hoof. It is the big fat one in the back as they came into the wet and mostly eaten down plot.
Classy picture Roger,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, seen over 30 does in the last week in Iron County,,, thinks the herd is out of wack...... wow like to take these old farts out from the UP Whitetail group, and show them the woods
My son took a doe on his 1st sit of the year just like with me. Both came around 1pm. Way too many does in our area.
nice buck Pinepoint, they are really moving now, shot this guy Tuesday afternoon
Thanks Copperman, yours is a dandy too! I shot my buck Monday afternoon. They are definitely starting to move more.
I was able to get a good heart shot on this doe with my new Northern Mist longbow.
very nice Yooper-traveler!
Yooper how about some details and story on that fine buck
Awesome stuff there Yooper.
My oldest son got it done in Oct. Public land in the NWL.

8 pt. Nov 8th. Both public land. Osceola County.
Ground, I was hunting in Isabella county. I’ve been hunting down there every year for about the last 20 years starting when I went to college downstate. My daughter who In college Was able to get a few 19 days in with me. She was in a tree about 2 to 300 yards away for me when I took the big guy.
Earlier in the morning I had had a doe being followed by a 2 1/2 year-old six pointer and a small spike. They were milling around immediately downwind of me and below my stand for about 20 minutes in the morning.
Later in the morning a doe was following the trail up wind me when she decided to make a 90° turn and walk right underneath my tree stand smelling where the other deer had been earlier in the morning. Roughly 8 minutes later the buck came up the same trail the doe did and walked literally in front of my tree at about 12 yards or so.
My shot was a little high and a little forward and the buck dart it off and appeared to dive down in some autumn olive. I thought it was strange as a rutting buck typically on a bad hit will stay with the doe or not bed down immediately.
I spent the next two hours trying to determine if the buck was still in the thick foliage or if he had slipped out.
When my daughter got out of the tree and came to mine I had had a glimpse of antlers in the autumn olive with my binoculars. We decided to stock in to the little Thicket to see if we could get another shot on the deer. As I approached it became clear the deer had died on his feet on the dead run he made immediately following the shot. Come to find out, My daughter had seen him following the same doll roughly an hour before I shot him. Although I was sad that the deer did not give her a shot opportunity I was very happy to have hunted with her and taken such a great animal.
awesome year for you Yooper! congrats
Some very impressive kills above. Congrats to all. Well done. I sure don't see bucks like that in my neck of the woods in the UP.
