I am headed out Friday morning and staying until Sunday at Ft Cobb with 3 of my boys (ages 7,5,3), my youngest 9 month old can’t go yet so staying home with mom and sisters. Boys and I are going to camp out and do some hunting. Any recommendations on where to go? We will be hunting from out pop up blind to conceal some of their movements. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciative. Haven’t had a chance to scout out the area and it would be super special to boys and I if we could come across a buck.

Hey PSE, I don't follow bowsite as closely as I use to. I hope you and your sons had some luck at Ft Cobb. I hunted around the lake and on some great private land for over 30 years. The farmer whose land I hunted on passed away and you know how that goes. I truly think some of the best public land is at Cobb. If there is any way you guys could go during mid week you won't hardly see anyone else hunting. Every year some monsters would come out of the park and state land and pass through the public hunting areas. The area by Swan Lake was the least productive for me but still saw quite a few deer. Across from the Deckboat Steakhouse was pretty good but N. of Lemmon landing was the best for me. Best of luck to you and yours, Gene Rhodes
