this year marks the 30th year I've taken a spike with my recurve bow. Not all in WV. The rules were must have one antler 5 inches. I like to shoot and eat deer with my recurve. Would have been nice if they were all 125 class deer but not many of those where I hunt

I won’t put anyone else’s choice of weapon down but it is so much fun hunting with a recurve! Makes you have to get up close and personal with em! Congrats on 30 years!

Oh I won't either. Hunt with what you like. But anyhow that is the story behind all the spikes i tease about.,

That is a trophy spike!!! I've actually taken 4 spikes off my property each time light was low and I thought they were does, just didn't see the spikes. And one had 7 inch spikes which blended in with the tree limbs, he had a yearling following him so I assumed it was a doe at 37 yards. 2 others where at first light and last light at stands where I was seeing some old does I wanted to take out. Another was a spike feeding with 2 yearlings last year at 400 yards taken with a rifle, which was all the hunting I got to do last year.
