Trespasser Thread

Thinking a forum should be set up where hunters can post pics of trespassers they catch on camera. I will lead with this one. Taken Minnnehaha county Sioux Falls city limits hunting zone.

Did you get them caught? Prosecuted? SD states attorney's need to do much more to combat this. Treated like nothing at all so no deterrence.

No, they haven’t been caught, not yet anyway. We are on to the recent one tho. IMHO a web-site or forum should be set up where people can post pics of trespassers caught on their game cams. Local Archery shops could put up pics of them as along with recent bow kills. It could lead to them being identified, and when word got out that there was such a site, it would be a deterrent. This last guy is easily identifiable.

Amazing, ....now we just got this guy. Hopefully he is just mistaken of where the property line is, because he does have permission to hunt the adjoining property. Will have to have a chat with him.

A friend and former SDBI board member just had a Black F250 buzz into his land, poach and buzz out. Seen by neighbor kid up by Melette but haven't caught them yet. These low lifes HAVE to be dealt with much more severely. NO excuse for it with iPhones, Maps, GPS etc. It's nearly all totally intentional in this day age IMO. Was just a couple of years ago a group of Minnesotans trespassed all over Faulk co. killed 22 deer illegally and were caught at an old farm house with them. slap on the wrist from states attorney, disgusting.

I agree DR , totally disgusting. These guys have no conscience and no respect for the law or animals lives. They may pay a small fine and lose hunting privileges for a short time, but it makes no sense because they don’t hunt with tags anyway. I say hit them in the pocket book hard, jail time especially for the guys from mn since 22 deer restitution must add up to a felony theft?

Mnhunter1980, The thing is they had all the tags and had them tagged (leftover antlerless). The only charged them with the trespassing instance they were caught doing. Even though they poached every one of them they got a very very light ticket since the states attorney thought it wasn't too big of a deal. Guys have to be HIT HARD, loss of vehicle, guns, $$$ fines and hunting privileges for multiple years and permanently depending on offense.

If L48 states want to get serious about game violations they need to look at how Alaska does things. They don't mess around up there.

Amen Jason, no leniency should be given. Especially in instances of willful violation.
