Late Season Decoy Hunting?

I used a decoy for the first time this year, it was fun to see deer interact with it. Wondering if people have had success or how deer have reacted to a decoy for late season (December) hunting. Do you prefer presenting the decoy as a buck or a doe? Thanks!
