I have a couple questions about laying a floating floor. Mainly about the length of the room and expansion joints. Any chance someone on here has some experience? Shoot me a PM please!!

Usc, you're probably best refering to the manufacturer's literature/recommendations as all materials will have different expansion/contraction requirements. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll see what I can BS my way thru... ha.

Most recommend a joint every 40'. I did a house of my own a couple weeks ago and did a section about 15' x 48' without a joint and haven't had any problems yet.

40 feet? Huh? If you are talking about engineered flooring.......those planks come in various widths, from 4" to 8". Thickness, 3/8" to 3/4". Lengths, usually 6' to 8' long.
