Eden Prairie Sharpshooters

I have seen several article indicting that Eden Prairie is having sharpshooters out to shoot as many as 120 deer. Typical to most city councils they still don't get it that a group of volunteer bowhunters could do the job for them. Maybe even citizens of Eden Prairie who would like to hunt in the community where they live.
Anyone living out there living in that area or who think like I do should contact them and express opposition to your hard earned tax dollars going to White Buffalo or a similar org when instead the city could charge a few bucks for permits. Similar to other metro hunts hunters could go through orientation, proficiency test, screening all that stuff. Meat harvested is "lead free" which is something that concerned the DNR and Dept. of Health, et.al. enough to throw a way a bunch of donated deer a number of years ago.

It’s too bad they don’t realize the amount of local proficient archers that are willing to pay a small fee to reduce the herds in metro areas. Years ago I hunted some parks etc but after a couple I figured it wasn’t my style. Plenty of people who would gladly save the city/county some money though

Amazing that the city council is spending money, rather than saving it or even making a small amount. I’m sure you are aware of MBRB, they have had bow hunts in Excelsior, and I believe Shorewood. It probably takes a couple of hard working bow hunters that are willing to propose a plan to the “decision makers” I the city and then if it gets approved, they or someone would have to manage the hunts.

MBRB in Metro, Arrowhead Archers in Duluth, and a few others around flying under the public radar.
I have hunted MBRB , County and DNR special city hunts...

Watch the shooters several times by Black Dog lake while sitting on my brothers back deck that overlook the area. They came in with long barrel slugs to reduce the herd, there was some wall hangers that roamed the Mn Rv bottom.
