The animal in the first picture is as big as a local deer since the pictures were taken at the same location with the same camera from the same angle.

Impossible to tell from that pic. Coywolfs are not as rare as you would think. Coyotes go up to 40 lbs maybe a little more if it’s pregnant

Big coyote

From: deerstalker

Big but due to the movement it looks bigger, check out the eye and you can see the effect of it moving, also closer to camera, which makes it look bigger. Still a big coyote.

I agree. big coyote. probably a male.

You’re nuts if you think that dog is anywhere CLOSE to the size of the fawn in the second pic.

Looks like a run of the mill coyote to me.

Yote no doubt about it

I always thought a coywolf was what a wolf creates after he kills eats and digests a coyote.

Yote for sure.

First, the coyote is about 20 feet closer to the camera than the deer. Secondly, all eastern coyotes can be considered “coywolves” as western coyotes bred with wolves on their eastern invasion. We don’t have separate populations of coyotes and coywolves, they are one in the same. Apologies if this is common knowledge, but not always sure....

Coyote is a lot closer to the camera than the Doe almost against the tree.

That log she steps over proves it.

looks like the coy/wolf cross breed they talk about. We in the liberal community call it a zee or zem trans-specie. He identifies as a timber wolf, so please respect his ID.

It would be interesting to see the same photo with it's summer coat.

You all know they aren’t more than about 35-40lbs at the biggest. Kill them all.

BBB, my 11yr old grandson just came in from his liberal private school and and explained he learned about zee, zer zem , whatever, in his "science" class. They disallow conservative rebuttal ;Saul Alinsky would approve.

In his science class???? If he was taught the science he would have been told a whole different story.

Bob, Yup, it was science class .Didn't make sense to me either. No free exchange of ideas. . Enough of this, I just bought an M7Microlite hang on and love it's light weight. Will pick up the Magnus Black Hornet ser razors soon and play with the set up.

I have a trail pic/video of a pack of 6 in my yard in December. All about that size. Actually have another pic of 5 of them a month earlier following a couple of deer. Always at night

Pretty hard to gauge the size of ANYTHING when there’s a wide-angle lens involved... JMO, a coyote’s a coyote.

I don’t think we’ve got any shortage of them, but I wouldn’t mind seeing them a little more often… When I’m out…

From: longbeard

I see plenty of them for my liking. Every time I check one of my cameras there are numerous pictures of them. Kill them all.

No context. No way to judge the size of it, so it’s just another dog…
