Damn, that's moose big.

From: Ace

Wow, big for sure. I assume you set up some cams?

I always figured that the size of a tree that a buck rubs on has a lot to do with antler configuration as well as size. A buck with a small span between his brow tines did not make that rub. If it was much higher on the tree and much further North, I’d say look for moose tracks, but that’s a WT.

That fella def has some testosterone he is putting to use!! No doubt a good one! Next years prospect!!!

This is an April 1st prank guys. That is the tree Steve hit with the truck last time he killed a deer. The rear camera was dirty and the truck does not have collision assistance built in.

That is a massive rub.

I came across this one during rifle season. Not nearly as big a tree, although it isn't small. This one was probably the highest on a tree I have ever seen rubbed. It extends well past the top of the rifle barrel.

Toonces, any moose tracks or sign in your area like droppings?

From: Toonces
13-Jan-20
It might be a moose, but guessing not. It is at the end of bench at the bottom of a ridge and creek crossing. There were deer tracks and droppings at the creek crossing and on the bench. It is in a spot I would expect to find a deer rub.

To answer your question, I did not come across anything that I would be sure were moose tracks or droppings.

Must have been made by a real dandy!

From: Bigbuckbob

I haven't seen rubs on trees like that in years so that has to be something really nice. Especially if it's so big it looks like moose rubs.

Saw my biggest rubs in CT in the Lake Gillard Water Company controlled hunt. Saw some show stopper sign but never killed a deer there and saw very few.

Big? How big is big? It's the one that got away... You guys should all know that. Big is defined by the lack of physical evidence :) ha ha ha!

"Big is defined by the lack of physical evidence"

More like big is enhanced or amplified by lack of evidence.

Is there an alternative explanation for this one?

To be perfectly honest, I’m not convinced… And on the other hand, I don’t know what else it would be?? I guess it could’ve been an angry little kid with a pointy stick....

What do you guys think?

From: longbeard
26-Jan-20
I think it’s a mountain lion scratch post!! Lol. See if there is any DNA left behind, they might be able to trace it to East BF or the Dakotas. Ha ha ha

Could be the guy that built that walk way trying out his brand new 14 amp Milwaukee sawzall

From: Bigbuckbob
26-Jan-20
Milwaukee doesn't make a 14 amp that I know of, it's either 12 or 15. And sawzall is a brand of reciprocating saws. As a tool guy I need to correct abuse on this site :)

From: Notme
