What a great article. I am one of the diehards. I hunt alone most all of the time. I only bowhunt with trad gear. Not sure why I still hunt. My dad took me rabbit and squirrel hunting when I was young. He deer hunted but never bowhunted. I loved the bowhunting and used to take him when he was older. He would gun hunt and I would bowhunt. I am waiting for a grandson to mentor. LOL. I have seen hunting falling off where I hunt.. People do not hunt like they used to. I retired in Feb and plan to go to the midwest and west to hunt more. I try to stay in shape to hunt. I do not feel like I did when I was 20 but that is normal I suppose. I have a wife that knows what I am about and supports me. I think that is a big help as I have lots of friends over the years that have wives that bitched at em for going hunting so they just quit. Anyway, life is short. Do what you want now. Good article.

Spot on JR. I am very blessed to have the wife I have. What ever you enjoy doing in life , do it, with in reason. God only gives us so much time on this earth.
