Thought someone here might be familiar with these buckles. A good friend accumulated the series of 9 buckles, back when they were offered each year, between 1986-1994. He framed them in a wooden case and gifted them to me this week. The way they're cased-up I can't see the back as to whether they're numbered. He said he thought his "number" was 5. Anyone know how many were issued each year, or any other background info?

Can't help you, but I have a 25th anniversary one from 94 that's very cool.

Neat buckles from a great organization! But no idea on numbers. I recall possibly Grant Adkisson having something to do with the program? He has a website where I pulled this info from. I'd contact Grant:

I do believe they were numbered and you had first option to purchase the same number each year. I have the full set and they are also in a glass covered wood case so I can not see the back of them.

Kurt, I'll drop him a message, thanks. I agree the buckles are really cool. I wasn't aware of them until seeing this set in his house about 10 years ago.

There are 10 annual buckles, 1986-1995, with an 11th buckle in 1994 for the 25th anniversary of CBA. They are serial numbered. I have #61.

Ok thanks....looks like I'm missing one animal then. Assume the 1995 animal was the Desert Bighorn?

It was a limited edition of 250, ten regular buckles ending in 1995, a special edition, the 11th one, issued in 1994 was the 25th CBA Anniversary. Number ten in the series was the Desert Bighorn.
