Way to go Pete! Keep charging forward with your innovations. Thank you for sharing with us. Will you be demonstrating this method in Auburn?

I will bring it. Need to make a couple more straps so I can go higher. I think five will get me to twenty feet. Nothing beats the the step with strap set up for me so far but this could be fun if I want to go uber compact, and basically just go in with a bow and no pack.

Amen way to go. I think climbing innovations, like yours, are the next big thing. Do you envision yourself eventually just taking it all the way to pure levitation?

I like that your wheels are always turning, Pete. That would be a great method for an extended back pack hunt when carrying steps instead an option.

Looks like an idea that would work. What if the strap that you put above you already had 2-3 staggered steps on it? so just set, go up 3 steps and then set another? 3 -4 sets and you should be close to 20 ft . If pre made up I would think it would be faster to go up. Just a though.

That’s like a multi-step aider. I think there are some aider-only climbing videos on YouTube.

pretty ingenious

Although I’m definitely a novice, in recent months I’ve tried several of these approaches. Pete, and the guys in those videos, know what they’re doing and make it look easy. If your a little older, fatter, and weaker (like a guy I know really well), they’re tougher. Nearly killed myself getting up to about 7 feet with that aider-only thing.

Jeb, it is actually not hard to do. You just have to learn to trust your gear. That lineman belt is your best friend. Hopefully you can make it in April because I would like to spend time during that meeting to really help people understand the importance of that tool. It is much more than a safety device. Pete

Son in law.......240 pounds and is not comfortable with the knaider/swaider set up. He wants a set of these. This is his first attempt using it.

Hard to argue with that! Also it seems like you could take larger or smaller steps according to what you were comfortable with.

Yes. That is what makes out nice. Take any sized step you want. Im making up a couple more to see what i need to get to height.
