Not early at all, Dr. J.R. Those first old does come in about the 3rd week of October. Flury of births will be in two to three weeks, then taper off for a couple months.

I figured some would start showing up - have seen quite a few young deer - yearlings - that have been dead along the roads the past few days.

The little rascal was bedded in my front yard. When I saw him he went in the culvert to get away from me. Wasn't sure how long he could handle laying in the cold water so I crawled in there and got him out. Put him down in the yard and mommy wasn't long coming to get him.

Saw my first two today. Really tiny little fellers. They were so small they just ducked their heads as they went under the guardrail.
