On Monday I saw my first bear of the season. Today I saw my first buck and first fawn of the year. Can't find a gobbler though.

Lots of deer around here. At least 3 different bucks with velvet growing, one much bigger than the other two. They are fascinated by my decoy(s) however.

Was watching a groundhog in the back yard a few minutes ago with two of the cutest little palm sized pups. They'd barely leave her side. They're living under my wood pile.

Turkeys were talking this morning and I was right in the middle of them. Too far for a shot.

I actually put my turkey hunting gear away. Had a day off last week and didn't even hunt. Just hiked with the dog. Simply can't locate any birds.

Today for the third time in a row the same tom was in the same tree gobbling before 5:30. I thought I was close enough this morning but I never saw him. The same hen flew down and checked out my decoy, but that was it again.
