Whitewater State forest

I'm looking at coming over from Wisconsin to possible hunt the public land NW of Winona, just went on a one day scouting trip and it looked promising. I was just curious how much pressure that area recieves? Thanks for any input.

I have a friend who hunts there and he won't/doesn't hunt weekends so that says something. I haven't hunted there in years but it's big enough to get away from people if you want to. Some big bucks show up each year from there.

I would assume the gun season sees an absurd amount of pressure then? From my limited scouting I did my plan would be to try to get up on the high ridges/bluffs and do some still hunting hopefully. I plan on getting off the beaten path as far as I can. Just looking to hunt some different terrain rather than the flat land I'm used to in Wisconsin.

hip boots will get you away from people also.

I definitely was going to be bringing them!
