Tactacam Reveal Cellular Trail Camera
Wisconsin

Does anyone have any experience with this camera? Pros? Cons? Fairly cheap cell camera but seems to have good reviews....
I have a Verizon one and an ATT one on the way. My Verizon one has been great . Easy to setup and use. The app on the phone is good, but needs a few user interface tweaks. Overall much better than Spypoint ( and the general consensus of internet reviews agree
Also takes great pics, day and night, has fast trigger speed, and seems to be good on battery.
Thank you Gusto....Any issue with the flash at night?
None. It’s got one of the better IR flashes I’ve seen to be honest. It’s not totally “blackout” though, you can kind of see the IR’s light up a little bit .
Where can you get it? Cabelas has it on wish list.
Scheels haD them for a couple days, so did cabelas Just have to keep checking the sites for in stock
Scheels in Rochester, MN had about 50 of them yesterday.
Received an alert that Scheels had them back in stock on-line. I got mine within a few days - quick shipping.
Realtime cameras are fantastic for catching trespassers, and I would guess knowing when something is coming down the trail, human or wild animal.
The biggest issue with these cameras is the SD cad used. I have had to order a couple class 10 U3 cards as my class 4 won’t work.....I’m not getting the pictures sent to me nor is the camera taking many pictures. I am going to put up another Moultrie camera next to it to see if I’m missing images. Keep in mind it’s over a water hole so there should be all kinds of pictures.
Please keep in mind I’m not bashing Tactacam here. Trying to be informative as I’m not th only one having issues like this. I’ll let everyone know if the card solves the issues I’m having.
Just saw Fleet Farm has them for $100.
I set a Tactacam Reveal and a Moutrie W40i (non cellular) up side by side. No delay and high sensitivity, settings on both. In a 24 hour period the Tactacam had 46 pictures and the Moultrie had 245. Of course the Tactacam lovers want to see the pictures and why such a difference. I did not pull the cards as I didnt have time to look at them today. But I will tomorrow when I take the Tactacam back to Scheels for a refund. Keep in mind I have taken all steps given by the Tactacam rep including buying the exact sd card he sent the link for. I'm sure this is not the same for all their cameras but this is the 2nd Tactacam I have had issues with. The 1st one shut off and would not turn back on after 2 days.
Dbl lung how do you expect a cell camera to keep and send that many pictures with no delay? Of course a non cellular camera will keep up because it doesnt have to do as much. Recovery time on a cell camera will obviously be greater.
The pictures on the Tactacam are being sent twice a day not immediately. It should store them faster due to the card being a class 10 U3 card. After all Tactacam claims less then half second trigger speed. The Moultrie has a class 4 card in it. Even so when I attached a modem to the Moultrie it never missed a beat except for when a squirrel pulled the cable connecting the modem and camera off.
To each his own,but for 100 cameras they do fine. Have experience with the Moultrie regular cameras only .for me i wasnt that impressed they were slow and didnt reach out that far. Pictures would never be centered. I have thought of trying the modem but went with cuddelink instead.
Dbl lung could you please explain the difference between class of the cards. Thank you
Longboard, I’m not that technologically advanced. I went with what the Tactacam rep recommended after experiencing problems with the class 4 and then class 10 U1 cards. I will say at least with the class 10 U3 card all the images were sent to me.
As for the Tactacam Reveal doing fine, mine is far from it. I have totally screwed up one hunting area because I have had to walk to the camera 5 days in a row which totally defeats the purpose of a cellular camera.
Long beard hopefully this will help you.

Mines going back to Scheels tomorrow. When I went to pull it today there was a doe standing in front of the camera. I took pictures of her with my cellphone. Keep in mind I have a Moultrie W40i standing next to the Reveal. The Reveal took 12 pictures and the Moultrie 43. Now imagine during the rut with a buck chasing a doe. If the buck is hot on the does heals there is no chance of a picture of him. Even though the Reveal is on no delay there was several seconds in between pictures. I have the proof.
Even more is the fact it took picture yesterday late morning and never sent them to me last night or this morning. What a disappointment to say the least!

Maybe its a bad camera, but either way i know your frustration. If you want a cheap base camera that does ok. Spypoints do a decent job fast but pictures are not the greatest quality. This i a picture from one of the spypoints i run.
Thanks Rut. I’ll stay with Moultrie as they have been very reliable for me. They also have cheaper plans now also.
rut freak, you can get hd pics of any pic your spypoint takes. It's like 5.00 for 50 HD pics and you choose which ones you want to be HD. I get a pic that I want more definition out of I just use the HD option.
I ordered 2 reveals. I have heard really good reviews. For $100 each if they send pics at all I will be happy. I do have 2 cuddelink cams that have worked great. I will never check cams again which is really nice.
Rutstrut. Ya i know but i need to load new firmware in my cameras. So i will wait till next time i get that way. The pictures are ok to me as long as i can make them out i am happy. But thanks anyways.
Mr Bones, the reviews are good but I do t think people know what they are missing. Lol
Do you guys know if you can use a Verizon cam with a phone thats carrier is U.S Cellular?
You can use any cellular carrier the camera has a sims csrd and sends messages. To the app you download yo your phone.
Does the reveal sent pics to text and email or just the app?
Sends to your phone like a text notification than goes to the app.
Can someone else see your pics if they download the app and you give them your password?
Should be able to with any cellular camera with an app.
