When is it too late to change bow setup?

I have been shooting the same bow/sight/rest combination for more than 5 years. I don't shoot long distance or 3D, so I haven't really had any issues (that I can blame on equipment anyway).
I was looking at my site and noticed it was very low on the bracket. Turns out it was mounted upside down. Not something that has to be changed, just bothers me now.
So it got me wondering, how close to the season do you stop making changes to your set up (other than for something that gets damaged)?
If I wanted something changed I wouldn't have a problem changing even in season if I felt I needed to. I shoot a compound for most of my hunting and there really isn't anything that's rocket surgery there. Form stays the same, tuning in an hour or so, sights about 10 minutes.
Doesn't matter. Once, in the bow shop I worked at, I sold and set up a bow to a new bowhunter who walked into the woods the next morning and shot a ten point on the ground at 12 yards.
Thanks guys, I didn't think it would be a big deal but I've never been one to mess with things if they were working.
Can I get you to set up my bow the day before the season opens? :)
I guess I’m on the other end of the spectrum. I’ve been shooting the same bow/rest/sight combination since about 2004. Obviously when I find something that works, I stick with it! ;-)
I have tried different arrow and broadhead combinations over the years but have been shooting the same combination for about 5 years now.
Generally I only make minor adjustments to things if I find it is not quite “ON”, but once I get 2 weeks out............. I don’t mess with it.
I tinker with my bows all the time, changing rests, strings, arrows. I make changes in the season or out.
I make my own stickbows from trees I cut, and have finished them during the season and gone out and killed deer with them. That might happen again this year. I have an osage selfbow about 1/2 done.
Thanks for the input, I guess I was being too cautious.
If I miss something though, I'm using the change as my excuse...
Wait til AFTER 5C Art! We NEED dead deer! ;-)
