I'm really looking forward to bow season more than ever this year.
When do you guys typically start your season? I know many start right away in September but plenty of others wait till Oct or Nov.

I hunt hard opening weekend while the Bucks are still in their routines. Then I wait until mid Oct.to hunt but I still scout every week . But I do carry .my bow while scouting . I've learned that lesson the hard way .

I start opening day and hunt every day I can until gun season. The first few weeks of the season are my favorite time of the season

Good luck to all...... I am fighting Covid, it sucks, have no idea of where I got it, I am always remote. Anyway, if I could, I like to hunt bucks right out of the gate, and hope to catch them ..... they are relaxed, not too much pressure. However like Glenn said, after that, I fish or grouse hunt, wait till mid October........ I am another dumbsky who once scouted in season without a bow, that will never happen again.....

I am looking forward to it. For years I enjoyed opening morning and afternoon, especially if it was a cool weekend. But I haven't been able to do so in a few years. This year, I will be out in the stand on opener since my obligations for that weekend have been cancelled. I don't need to shoot anything, just being out there will be rewarding. But if something...

I usually hunt the opener and then slack off till mid oct. After waiting 9 months I am ready to get out on the opener. I might be having back surgery soon so, I will hunt as much as I can early season, mostly just around home. I wont be venturing too far out this year, unless my son is with me.

This will be my 53rd opener. Never missed one. I hunt every chance I get up to and including the gun season. And, this year with little or no work, I'll likely get some late season hunting in.

Always hunted opening week hoping to catch bucks in their bachelor groups. Then I'm like the rest of you, mid October. Ground hunter - Get well soon.

I'll hunt once or twice the first few days. Then I will pretty much lay off until the first cold front of Oct. Ground Hunter take care. My uncle had that shit. He is one of the toughest men I know. It had him in bed for the better part of 3 weeks. He never had any of the breathing/lung issues or it may have been worse. He said it was like the worst hangover you've ever had multiplied by 100.

I don't always get out on opener. If it's hot I'll sit it out and wait a week or two, but I'm out there as much as possible once the temps drop.

I will be out on opener also. I found an oak grove in price county that sucks the deer right in. Probably won't shoot anything, but it's fun just sitting in the tree watching them and hoping, maybe!

So I think I'm going to plan on hunting the first week as long as its not too stinking hot. Before and after that I'll spend my time fishing. Come October I'll be squirrel hunting (with a few sits up north) and then settle into bowhunting from the last week of Oct through the 2nd week of Nov. Do some trapping in mid Nov, possibly do gun season up north and then resume trapping for a couple weeks. Start bow hunting again around xmas.
I LOVE FALL!!!

I'll be chasing bugling bulls in ID for the WI archery opener; I'll find a way to not be too sad about not getting ate alive by mosquitos in WI :) Good luck fellas.

I will be either sitting with my wife over her bear bait or if she fills the bear tag sitting on an oak flat looking for whitetails. Either way I will be in the woods. Forgot to mention swatting mosquitoes.... :(

When the bucks start shedding their velvet and you can feel a hint of fall in the air early and late in the day; it's time to getting fired up for bow season. Some of the maples in the northwoods are starting to show their colors.

Every summer I look for signs fall is coming. In early August I see some of the lush depth of the green hills begin to fade just the tiniest amount. Then the birds, depending on the species, begin to gather and flock. The corn tassels out and browns, and soon the soybeans begin to turn brown as well. There's always a cool, forties for a low, night near the end of August. Then Labor Day comes and an early Maple or two begins to show color in their leaves. I finally see my first flock of geese in southern flight and the first rubs appear. Finally...the opening of bow season, and the long awaited adventure for the year begins again. I feel comfortable in this, and like I've once more met an old friend.
