Not trying to put the cart before the horse, but looking for some bear mount ideas. I already have a half mount on the wall. Looking for some ideas and pics of what you guys have.
Thanks!

Gunny - I always use natural forms or should I say non aggressive mount forms. https://www.revolutiontaxidermysupply.com/ has really unique forms to choose from.

Unless the big one comes back in the next two weeks, I may shoot one of the two that show up together all the time. They are smaller and I may do a rug with one of them. Have to kill one first.

I have a shoulder mount and a rug, so the last one I killed I just had tanned...for what they charge to tan a bear hide you may as well just go ahead and have a full rug made. I never liked the roaring mouth ready to claw ya to death look guys have done on bears...maybe on a grizzly, but I think black bears look better mounted mouth closed and simply posed in relaxed natural appearance rather than big and scary like some kind of monster. Same goes for walleyes, but I digress..

This is what I did with my very first one, its not a huge bear obviously, the rest of them I've just tanned the hides and Euro'd the skulls. Im waiting for a 500 lb slob before i do a rug. The smaller bears I've seen made into rugs IMO dont look the greatest but obviously its a personal opinion and i think any bear is a trophy personally

The front left leg is on a tree log that was chewed by a beaver over 3 quarters of the way through. The platform is on rollers and can be easily moved. Layed 2 sculls on base along with the arrow pieces he was shot with. I arrowed 2 bears that year in New Foundland. The mounted one scored nearly 20".
