I like that the PGC decided to have a September Squirrel season. I usually take my self bow and use some arrows with stone heads. I've only killed a couple but take a lot of shots. I might use a 38 pound Robertson Coypup longbow. I've been shooting it with carbon arrows.

I'll be out there. Squirrel and Sheepshead hunting together? You bet!

This rain is good timing for the shrooms. More rain coming next week. If it keeps this up, raining every few days, it could be a banner year.

Will, did you ever read Dean Torges' book, Hunting the Osage Bow? I recently acquired the selfbow, 'The Streak', that he made through the course of writing it. Dean loved chasing squirrels with the bow, and some of my most memorable bow hunts were squirrel hunts too. Yep, I'll be out there.

Haven't read any of his books but the name sounds familiar. Hunting with a self bow isn't for everybody but it's a experience that a lot of hunters would enjoy if they tried it.
