Hey guys! I wanted to share the buck that I was able to kill on 9-4-20 on the Kaibab archery hunt. I shot him on my last evening to hunt at the end of day 14! The shot was 50 yards and went in behind the last rib And out the neck on the other side. He went about 75 yards and piled up. I’m still on cloud 9!
Fantastic! Congrats on a great buck!
Thank you John!
Sweet buck for sure. Congrats !

Great Buck in a great area! Congratulations.
Congratulations Chris, awesome buck!
Beautiful buck!! Congratulations.
Thank you all! It feels like it’s going to be forever until I get that mount back.
Great bow buck chris. Congratulations! I hope you post pics of the mount once you get it back. Over the course of 14 days did you have many other stalk opportunities on similar bucks?
Sweet prize man!
Boscoe, this was the best buck I saw for sure. I did spot up several good bucks in the 170-180 range. I lost count of how many blown stalks I had. It was really tough conditions with the ground so dry. Plus the wind would swirl badly starting in the late morning.
Are you going to get him officially measured?
Bohntr, yes I definitely am. He is definitely not a buck for net score, but I’m going to have him measured and entered in BIA and P&Y.

Let me know if you need someone to coordinate it.....or bring to me.
BOHNTR, He’s with Clay at Mogollon Taxidermy. I was told we had to wait 60 days after getting out of the freeze drier. I believe he comes out this week. Not sure how the measuring process works there. Do you go to taxidermists or do they have to come to you?
I usually measure them at the local taxidermy shops up here.
Clay at Mogollon is actually a B&C Measurer, and both BIA and P&Y will accept a score sheet from him.
Thank you sir!
Chris, phenomenal buck!
What a beauty! Congrats!
Thank you guys!!! Tic Toc waiting for the mount..... lol.
I got the mount back last month for those who have t seen it. Clay did an amazing job in my opinion.

What did you do to preserve the velvet?
That is a BEAUTIFUL mount! Terry, Clay has a freeze dryer.
Chris, did Clay score him for you?
Marvin, Yes he did. Scored just awful! Lol. Would you believe 178 2/8” gross and 150 1/8” Net? Had to score as a typical because it was just under the non-typ threshold with 11 5/8 of non typical points. Total non typical gross was 189. I knew he wouldn’t score high with his configuration but I wasn’t expecting that. Doesn’t matter though, I’d take him again in a heartbeat!
Here he is back at home.
That is stunning....VERY, VERY nice!
Thank you Novembermadman!
The scoring system really isn’t designed for a buck like that......that’s just a good mature buck that looks great!
BOHNTR, definitely. I knew right away he wasn’t a scorer. But I did think he was a non typical. Lol. The extra on his left side was counted. I’m guessing it was the width vs length thing. That point would’ve made him score non typ. But man I love looking at him every day :-)
Bucks like that doesn't matter what they score, shoot dammit, shoot!Very nice,Clay did an awesome job also.
Just phenomenal! Shooter all day, every day! Nice mount too. Congrats again Chris.
Awesome buck! Congratulations!
Did you do it DIY or have a guide? Nice buck and I'll have to check out that taxidermist for the turn around time alone.
Bohunr, it was a DYI solo hunt.
