My first hunt was Friday afternoon. 6 does and fawns at 15 yds and 2 bucks. A coon and 2 coyotes. A good evening.

Great buck and you bring up a good point. Sometimes taking pictures of what you shot is very important. I learned this from a buddy who is all about the photo. Clearing out brush, blood, tongue, lighting, taking photo from the ground, not holding the antlers, nice background. All important things if it matters.

Nice buck. Looking at the arrow sticking out I'm glad you found him. Was penetration really that poor?

I'm surprised this was the first question on it. The angle is not correct based on the photo (deer was broadside), but this just goes to show how low the spine drops over the kill zone. With a little luck involved of course, my arrow buried into the very base of the spine and he dropped on the spot. Another arrow was delivered to finish him off. Obviously not the way I planned it, but I'm glad it worked out.
