Hello everyone. I am buying a house in Santa Fe. I have been hunting Texas and Colorado for years but have never hunted NM at all. Do any of you have suggestions for someone new to the state for hunting opportunities in northern NM, preferably within a few hours of Santa Fe. I would appreciate it greatly because I am clueless.
Thanks a million!

Welcome! I know the southern part of the state better than the northern part, but there is quite a bit of opportunity around the state for a bowhunter once you figure out the draw. Worst case, there are a number of hunts available over the counter.

A lot of hunting opportunities in the northern part of the state within a couple hours. If you are lucky enough to draw a tag. Colorado is also in your wheelhouse for otc tags.
You can also get some bird and turkey hunting in too. Are ya into predator hunting? There’s some of that available as well. Good luck

Welcome ....And to add to above responses , northern NM has some really good fishing opportunities , both river/stream and some pretty fun lakes. Sure makes the summer months a blast...
