Preference Points in Colorado

I have 7 resident elk preference points to burn in Colorado. I’m thinking either Unit 20 or 49. Any other areas I should be looking for? Anyone ever hunted these areas?

either, pick the one you have the most access to, or know the terrain the best. Both will produce similar bulls to the knowledgeable bowhunter.

You’re from Colorado, I suggest a trip. Even now, you can see the terrain and most access points. One might really call your name.

Are you much closer to one unit vs the other? If so, do the closest unit.

The north end of unit 20 was torched by the Cameron Peak fire. Not sure how it will change things, one never knows. It is hard to put the bow sneak on or call them in open country/

Good advice above. I would recommend picking the unit closest to home so you can really get a lot of scouting time in. Scouting time pays off!!!
