Tag reissue process changing
Colorado

Looks like Colorado is going back to the original way of reissuing tags. Post a list every Tuesday and selling them at the same time every Wednesday. For me personally, I suspect that will make it harder to obtain a tag. Not sure why they decided to go back to doing it that way. Prob saves money for the CPW by streamlining the process.
Where did you see that? How does it work? If you have 20k guys trying to get a tag in wednesday is whoever gets in before the server crashes?
I might have spoken too soon. It has been reported that they are going back to the old method for reissue Turkey tags next spring. That is in the Colorado Turkey brochure. It has not been confirmed that it will also be changed for big game. That is just an assumption.
I just sent that question to CPW and asked if they have decided yet for big game
Looks like I jumped the gun with my assumption. CPW official says he thinks the process will be the same as this year for big game.
He sent this document as support. This included the recommendation to continue the random process

Hold the presses!!!!
His first email to me was slightly ambigious, but the document seemed to back up that the process was going to remain the same. But to be sure, I emailed him back and asked for clarification. Here was his reply:
Hello,
The reissue process in 2021 will align with what is printed in the 2021 turkey brochure. A new reissue preview list will be posted online every Tuesday, and those hunt codes will be moved to the Leftover List and available for purchase every Wednesday. Resident licenses that took 5 or more preference points in the current year's draw will be manually reissued (status quo). More information will be posted online as soon as the 2021 big game brochure is released.
Respectfully,

I’m confused. So how do they decide who gets them on Wednesday? is it whoever has the fastest internet connection? At least with the old way it spread things out a little. Now every Wednesday there will be 50k people trying to buy tags. Are they being released every Wednesday morning at 9am? So if a decent tag posts are guys going to go get in line at cabelas assuming that’s still the fastest? Why does cpw keep changing everything?
What a joke. Get ready for Wednesday morning website crashes. At least I'll know that I will get nothing accomplished on Wednesday mornings as opposed to Tuesday-Friday at 9:07 like this last year.
I like the random system. My buddies and I got a lot of good tags especially for our kids. This new again system sucks.
Will the "que" be operational? If so, how early can you get in-line, online? The que helped with crashing since it limited user numbers but still disappointed a lot of folks who tried to get on at 9 only to find out the process actually started a lot earlier.
I can rarely be on my phone or computer at 9 anyway, just curious.
