My son and I usually take a charter into lake superior but are thinking about lake Michigan this year. Anyone know a good charter???

No, been shooting the local mill pond right near home.

Man, I used to have fun shooting carp with a bow. I would skip school when I found they were running. Have not done that in awhile.

From: CaptMike
23-Mar-21
It is really good fun. I've been doing it a lot the last couple years. Luckily, I have a convenient spot to dispose of them.

23-Mar-21
A few came in with the melt off. Should be getting really good soon.

From: Pasquinell
23-Mar-21
I made the mistake of chopping them up with an axe and burying them in my vegetable garden. I had every skunk and raccoon from Kenosha to Milwaukee come dig my plants and garden up for a month. Plus chopping the carp up on a sheet of plywood was a real treat... I think my wife made me throw those clothes away.

23-Mar-21
Pasq, I have a farmer buddy who lets me throw them in the manure spreader. Chops them up and spreads them on his fields. I bet those clothes were "special!"

From: Pasquinell

We had a blast every year shooting those carp. I havent done it in awhile. We would throw a big plastic tote in the boat and take turns shooting until the tote was full. After chopping them up that year I may have been arrested as a mass murderer had it not been the scales in my teeth! Its messy but what a blast!

Nice steelhead there DirtyMike. Bet that was a fun fight. That how it is here to Ruger. Lots of small males, big one wont be far behind. Hope we get the rain tomorrow, and a good west wind to push some ice shoves back out.

Caught 3 males in the rain last nite . 1 keeper . Water was rising fast & hi . Highlight of the evening was a flock of White fronted landed next to me . They are a few hundred miles off course .

From: xtroutx
24-Mar-21
I was out yesterday morning. Caught 1 keeper also. Lost a nice one close to the boat. Nasty wind coming off the lake made for a cold day out. I will probobly wait till next week now, when they are a little farther up river. I've got a nice spot about 1/2 way between the damn and the lake. Lots of trees for good cover from the wind. Makes fishing much more enjoyable.

Thanks everyone, and yes I believe they discovered a mill pond in Oak Creek. I’m happy that I have wife that loves to fish and take adventures even when I’m at work.

Good times right there!! That looked like Oak Creek to me also. I believe I saw an episode of Bill Dance or one of them fishing salmon right there by that bridge. I would love to fish some of those trib's more, just have a hard time with those bigger city's.

Went out friday with a buddy. We got 8 between 17' and 22". Kept two 20' males. No big females to speak of yet. Biggest was 22" with a full belly of eggs. Seen alot of 20 to 24 being caught but none of them 28 to 30 inch females. Suckers are already up thick and sterguns are also up. Weird year. Seems to early for the suckers. They are usually at the tail end of the walleye run. Going back out tomorrow.

Wife got a 27" female today. Her first walleye. Already laid its eggs. A few 16"-18" small males also. Hooked stregon 6 times today. Snapped one rod.

16 inch crappie is a bigg'in. I got out with my son on Saturday and we did well for walleye. Biggest was 24". Everything was all spawned out. Went back today and got one 19". They are all headed back to the lake. Saturday had 30 trucks in the boat landing, today there were 3 of us. I got out 9 times with the boat for the run. Wheel bearing went out today, I'm done now for walleye until this summer on the bay.

So I went to Iowa the other day, town called Arnold’s Park, they call the 5 lakes there the Great Lakes of Iowa, what a beautiful place and the lakes are crystal clear due to natural filtration. Ran into this guy while I was there, Berkley Bedell I’m definitely going back to fish there.

Picked up a few " good eaters " on the WI River. Tough conditions, mid 30's & windy . Wearing gloves with heat packs in late April . A 4 foot Musky took a swipe at a small Northern as I lifted it out of the water .
