A record warm March & lots of Bears are out of hibernation & theres not much to eat . Our neighborhood has 7 homes & 4 had Bear problems this week . Small & large birdfeeders , Suet stations , Garbage cans , & 1 new Weber grill tossed around like a toy .
I'm putting up 4 Trailcams for neighbors today. Lincoln County .

My thoughts there are no bear problems as bears are only doing what comes natural and that is looking for food. All the above problems could've been easily avoided.

Hoot correct. Clean up the attractive food sources.

Anyone that lives in bear country knows this time of year when bears emerge from hibernation and venture out you are just asking for trouble. Time to put the birdfeeders, Suet stations, Garbage cans, & 1 new Weber grill away, and your troubles will go elsewhere. Bears are just being bears

I can see where this is going. as part of the BRP or Bear Reparations Project, designate north of Hwy 8 as da bear sanctuary, no bear hunting, no bear dog training or harassments, it's the right time, to do the right thing, for da bears.
No Nuisance bears only Nuisance humans.

the Bird Watchers lobby is going to go nuts, when Evers signs executive order BLM[ Bear Lives Matter order] prohibiting bird feeders from March 15 thru June 15th north of Hwy 10.
Do it for the baby bears mum. If one bear can be saved from a mutilated jaw or paw because of those 'D..' bird feeders it will be worth it!

Well I guess I owe everyone an apology. Don't know much about Bears . Seems to me that we have several species of them . I looked at several mounts in homes & a bar . That group must be the fierce bad ass group . They all look alike, beady eyes , badass teeth showing , all claws extended. Better carry a big gun when Berry picking .
Then I see film of Bears with huge guts full of Gummi Bears , whipped cream on its nose & a jelly donut in its mouth .
Which of these 2 are related to the bird feeder attacker ?
Oh , there's a 3 rd species , the only smart one in the group . The ones that know exactly where the Fawn birthing areas are & will systematicly wipe out lots of Fawn every year .
Who kills more Deer ? Bears or Wolves .

Wolves hands down, never did see a bear hunting down whitetails during winter.

Yep, bear fawning time, maybe opportunistically the rest of the year. Wolves, 24/7 365 size does not matter.

So an animal only has a right to belong if it doesn't kill a lot of deer. Got it.

The difference is that there is a management plan for bear that seems to work relatively well. While The management plan for the wolf is a joke since “they” had no interest in following it and the new plan will leave little or no room for harvest. Most here, I believe, have no problem with wolves on the landscape if they are at management level. But of course we got a bait and switch with that deal and will eventually be double or triple the original management goal. So yes there is a little bit of resentment.

Nobody said bears were good vs wolves being bad. They said if you put a food source out, especially in the spring, you should expect bears to come eat. They're hungry and there's little quality food available so bird feeders, grills, burn barrels, garbage cans, etc are pretty much guaranteed to attract any bears within miles. If you live in bear country either remove the attraction, make it impossible to get to, or just deal with them coming in.

Grub, I'm sure there are other forums more friendly to you and your wolf patrol buddies.
