First saddle climb of my career. No platform yet so just standing on sticks. Not to bad tho. I could get use to this
One question...how does one keep their bridge out of the way while climbing??? Maybe a dumb question idk

Assuming just tighten and tuck the tag end away somewhere so it’s not in the way..

Lose the lineman’s rope altogether, and climb with the tether. One less rope to drag around, safer, and solves the question of keeping the bridge out of the way.

I just tuck it into the belt strap on the saddle.

I flip it behind me, so it hangs by the back of my thighs instead of the front.

It was. Only used two sticks. Got about 9’ off the ground with the 2. I’ll be happy with one more. Plenty of height to hunt at 12 to top of sticks, platform at about 14. Whole different ballgame than hanging stands

MAPA - That last thought you laid down has been the biggest "challenge" for me with the saddle. I've got decades of situating myself a certain way or trying to... And the saddle reverses that... Sorta crazy how oddly hard that is.

Saddle I feel I’m plenty good at 14 instead of 18-20. As odd as that may seem....?

I'm 9-12 in the saddle and it's working. I've heard Pete say he thinks the angle you lean out at looks more limb like, so that may help... But also, that whole hide behind the trunk thing... That definitely works.

HSFC do you have a removable bridge? I loath having a biner on my bridge because its 'that much more' bridge length that can't be used rotation-wise. I can't even stand haveing a prussik on there, lol...but thats a necessary evil. but I did make my continuous loop as small as I could get away with.
if I remember, I just cinch it up as short as I can and tuck the tag end in a pocket. if I don't remember, I'll just tuck it inside the waist belt of the saddle to keep it out of the way.

i cinch it tight and wrap it around the middle, just unravel when up at height.

Check out SRT/DRT climbing methods. You can preset 550 cord in multiple trees to get your climbing rope up and be up at height in like 2-3min... 5min if youre a bigboy
