Appears to have happened last night. Van had Sedgwick County plates. By looks of the damage, the buck made it up to roof level and upper corner of windshield on drivers side. Empty van was parked a 1/4 mile down the road from the scene of the accident.

Come Fall, someone is going to be wondering what happened to their “hit list” buck?

99% sure I drove past that today. Almost stopped to take pics. Looks like I didn't need to.

Yep, small world! Grouse creek road, deer on bridge with long blood trail, car 1/4 mile south of bridge, between Cambridge and Dexter... Sound about right?

My employee hit one tonight a mile from the house and wanted to know if I wanted it.

I hunted yesterday and the deer were definitely on the move.

Varmints aren’t working him over too much yet?

Still right at the edge of the bridge. They've chewed on his butt some, otherwise he hasn't moved. I figured it would have gotten drug off by now. Maybe being close to 2 houses keeps some of the yotes out of that area. Seems to always be a roadkill a quarter mile south of there, maybe another dead animal has drawn the varmits attention?

If my dad was still alive it would have been moved....right into our freezer.

I hit one with my Silverado, about a month ago. Was traveling about 70 mph near Wakeeny. Damage to my truck, $7100.

KDOT used to pick those up, did they quit?

I think if on rural state highways or roads...it is up to the County to pick-up and dispose....which is usually the nearest humane society ovens.

Holy shit Dale! That’s about 4x what my truck is worth. I hit several over the years, got a grille guard, and haven’t hit one since. Go figure.

Have seen 2 big bucks hit the last few weeks. Really big bodies.

Yeah, they’d total my truck out if it had $2,000 worth of damage.

The surprising part of hitting a deer and causing $7100 in damage was that it was drivable. It didn’t bust the radiator. Guess that was the only positive.

At least you finally killed one without a corn pile Dale...congrats!

He's taking an odd route, but might eventually get across the road.
