6 straight days of crap weather. The 7th day Sun. is calm beautiful and turkeys out everywhere! Oh and remember we gonna at least double your costs for next year and still not let you hunt sundays. Yeah us and about only 8 or 9 states left in the country that dont allow it!

Hate hate hate hate hate hate hate. So stupid. Everyone can walk hike fish and explore Sunday but we can’t hunt. Mainly probably because they want a day without hunters. Well guess what, I want a day on public where i****s don’t scream with 12 kids and screw up my hunt hahahaha

In this state hunters are viewed as the bottom of the barrel, it seems. I can almost understand that in certain areas they don't want to hear the blast of a gun; but the bow is so short range and quiet, what's the problem with that? I'm starting to feel like I'm forced to follow cult mentality.

Unfortunately we are on that “cult” level to a lot of people. It’s honestly just ridiculous that we can’t enjoy what we do on Sunday’s but everyone else can. Especially for those of us who work, run jobs, companies etc Monday-Friday and sometimes even Saturday. Some of us our only time out is the weekend. Maybe one day...

And they don't pay. Next year with the increase and no Sundays it's gonna be hard to to justify staying home

Ma-Pa I understand what you're saying with one exception : hunters are neither using mind control nor forcing their views on anyone as do cults . A guy or gal works hard to contribute to society and support their family and are disallowed a Sunday AM hunt before the football game comes on. If it is truly a timeless religion based law do you think the Puritans would have allowed pro football in Ma. on Sunday? The hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I think it's more apathy than anything. I'd bet 90% of the people in the state don't care about Sunday hunting. The problem is that more of the other 10% don't want it than do. I'm no PR specialist so I don't know how to get some of those other 90% on our side of the issue but I would say thats key.

My dad gave me an interesting article that I think was in the Boston Globe in the last few days. It's interesting - on the price jump stuff. Oddly it got some comments from former deer project leader here, who went to head the Kansas Fish and Wildlife division Steve Williams. Just skimmed it so far so no review, but Ill get through it and toss some points up.

Not hunting on Sundays in mass sux no doubt. It’s never gonna change. That battle has gone on for years. I always used it as a positive to capitalize. It’s a day nobody is sitting in their stand, you won’t ruin another guys hunt, and a day you can scout for the hot spot and setup. A day you can you can move a stand the deer are passing by but just out of range. A day you can sneak into a piece you always wanted to scout in season to see how it is used by deer. It not hunting but you can see where the party is if your stands are cold.

Pro so tru. Many Sundays I have made a move and been home to watch the pats. First sit in a new spot , always interesting

Same debate for the last 40 years. Same arguments. Same rebuttals.
And after 40 years nobody will tell me WHICH landowners will post their land, but it seems to scare *someone*. I'd be happy if they opened Sunday to bowhunting but I won't live that long.

Shiloh- I Slow cooked in liquid for 2-3 hours Monday. Put in the fridge until Sunday in the Dutch oven. Heated up again at 280f for 2 hours on Sunday. Took it out at 5 and took meat off the bone and shredded it with 2 forks. Combined 1/4 c of the broth, olive oil, and 2-3 tbsp of Trader Joe’s taco sauce. Mix shredded meat w sauce mix in a big bowl, spread out on cookie sheet, salt it, broil on high till crisp and crunchy. Not tough or chewy at all. The key is the slow and low heat softens it up. Learned from meateater cookbook. It was a big hit in the house.

Saw two this morning while driving somewhere, one in full strut. Another strutter on the way home, trying to impress a bored hen.
Yesterday I had a strutter ten feet in front of the truck up in Petersham.
So, they're still active, and plentiful, at least on posted land ;-)
