How’s the drought situation in NM, specifically around Nogal/unit 36? Will hunt there Sept 20-24.

Overall drought is on-going. But the monsoons have kicked in and the rains have been strong and the grass is green. Lookin good.

Some friends posted pictures of the Nogal area a few weeks ago. It was the driest I've ever seen it. Hopefully the rain has been as good down there as it has been around Albuquerque the last few weeks, and hopefully we'll get more.

Well, I’m just over five weeks out on my unit 36 elk hunt. Hope that that area is having reasonable moisture.

I heard yesterday that, that area has had quiet the turnaround. It is now super green.

I wondered about the "Nogal looked dry" post. I'm in unit 34 adjacent to 36 and very green here. If it keeps this up for 5 years maybe the drought will be history.
