My cams are not showing much yet, it was better last year. Anyone else seeing some good bucks on licks?

I haven't gotten around to putting out cameras yet. I have been seeing bucks feeding in soybeans in the evening but nothing big. One of my sons has cameras out and but has just gotten pics of year and a half old bucks along with does and fawns.

I have mature rye in some of my food plots so it is hard to get pictures there. I rented my bigger fields to a dairy farmer who planted hay this spring and most pictures on the camera I have on one of those fields is showing a lot of bucks but too far away to really evaluate at this time of the year. Here is a picture of what appears to be a mature buck. There is so much food around that it is tough to get good pictures.
The rye has turned brown and dried. Something is hitting it hard. I think the deer are doing at least some of it. Before the end of July I plan on burning the rye or I should say straw. Then I can start running cameras.

Hang my cell cameras last weekend and have had pics of 3 nice bucks cruising around various clover plots. Only 1 is mature that I could tell.
Still early in our area and we don't usually get many great pics in the heat of the summer. Starting about September is when it begins picking up.

WVHillbilly, the pic of the buck in the 2nd pic, which I believe is the same buck as the 1st pic, is a dandy. I hope he stays in your area after he sheds his velvet come fall. Good luck with him.

Nice buck for sure in the second image Pat. I believe by now that most mature bucks have established their basic framework....lengths and width. Some additional growth will happen but a lot of it goes toward mass. I southern Ohio we've had a generally excellent growing season with dependable rainfall. It's as green and lush as July ever gets here.

Great to see those pics WVH. I remember a day when WV had a reputation for undersized bucks and the state emptied out when Ohio's deer firearms season opened.

Dang Wv hillbilly, that droptine buck looks almost identical to a buck I had a bad high hit on a few years ago... It's almost dajavoo, almost the exact same size and character rack and his drop was on the left too except a couple inches longer.... I still think about that buck never found nor ever seen again... Drops are kind rare in my area and it still bums me out...
