Will be in your fine city the 3rd week of October. Unfortunately, not hunting but there on business and some personal. What are some of the can't miss things to see or do in that area when visiting for almost a week? Thx in advance!

If you're up for a drive/hike the Aspen Vista trail might be worth checking out depending on the exact dates of your trip. You might be a touch late in the year though. Other than that the plaza and Indian art are with checking out, and the food is fantastic as long as you enjoy at least a little spice.

Bandalier National Monument is quite interesting. Valle Caldera has tons of elk and might still be bugling. Both would be on my short list of great places to visit. Those areas will put you in Los Alamos, home of the most PHD's per capita of anywhere in the US- lots of information on the Manhatten Project. Drive up toward Sante Fe ski area- some aspen might still be hanging on, plus it has hikes around.

The Loretto Chapel is a neat place to visit.

Drive to Ruidoso. It is beautiful right now and there are animals everywhere.
