Kansas Tagging Questions
Kansas

I have a few questions after carefully reading the Kansas regs that should be elementary for residents. I come from a state that you can legally kill up to 6 deer per day with no tagging requirements so I don't get a lot of practice with this.
When the tags are sent to you from Kansas they come attached together with a top signed portion and then a whitetail either sex tag followed by an anterless tag. Should you harvest your allowed buck first, then the anterless tag will be separate (and unattached) to the upper signed portion Is the Anterless tag still valid even though it' detached?
Lastly, the tags have to be attached to the animal during transport. After the deer is processed, what happens to the tag? Does it just ride back with the processed meat?
Sorry for the silly questions
Yes, the tags can be separated and still be valid. The tag will stay with the processor, then you should get it back with the processed meat. The tag is supposed to stay in your possession until all meat is consumed.
Great! Thank you so much!
You can detach the tags. They are valid until signed and dated with the harvest. The tag stays with the meat.
Bowman: has your dad with his trad bow killed the elk yet?
Simple rules. The carcass tag stays with the meat while it is in our possession. You do not take possession of the deer until the tag is on it. You must sign/date/time the tag once the deer is shot. Do not move the deer without it being properly tagged, this includes from the kill spot out to the road where your truck is parked. Your tag gives you the right to possess the deer.
I use a gallon sized zip lock storage bag, place the signed tag inside it, then I use zip ties to fasten the bag to a back leg. This keeps the tag clean, and it can be easily removed when processing the venison.
No he hasnt yet. He hasnt been out much since it has been so hot and most of the fort is shutdown.
I tag mine the legal way with a zip tie.
I have etags to log my harvest on app, so I still have to print a tag on printer ?
