I decided to buy my first climber this year and bought the Summit Goliath. It comes with the footrest, which makes the sit even more comfortable. My issue is that it bangs around when walking through the woods with it. It also makes some noise when climbing up the tree. Anyone have the footrest and have a good solution?

I use pipe insulation foam with zip ties and sticky foam in any metal to metal contact area and then use the small bungees with the ball and loops to hold everything tight. The bungees fit right in my pocket when I remove them.
There is a learning curve with climbers to make them noiseless.....you should see how some got theirs dolled up with silencing material. Carrying them through the woods is what drives me nuts.

I also use pipe insulation on mine. I got mine very quiet to carry, but this old fart is a bit noisy climbing. I think they can hear me gasping for air by the time I get up. I carry a can and a turkey call to help counter that. If I am not using it on public I just leave it all set up on a tree at home. I do like sitting in it better that the ladder stand.

Agree with what is being said. I have two Goliath's and love them. Can get 20-25 feet up and sit all day.

Thanks for the suggestions. Is a bungee cord the only way to keep it in place while walking with it? I was hoping there was another option.

I've got the Viper, and my biggest problem is staying awake...it's than comfortable. I've got all the rails padded and take my time going in and coming out. Yes, they make noise setting up and climbing, but with practice it's not bad.
My biggest issue is that seat rail...I shoot a 60" recurve or a 65" longbow. I've got to set it high, armpit level, to be able to lean over the rail to shoot...otherwise my string hits it. I'd think a short compound would have no issues, but it ain't too "trad friendly" lol.

I have added another bungee and tape on contact points to prevent metal to metal noise. My go to climber is a Lone Wolf, however, and its pretty quiet to begin with. It packs way better than most others, including an older Warren & Sweet I have.

I don’t use the footrest on mine. I just set the seat section so the height is comfortable for my legs and feet.
I use the green strap and a push button cinch strap along with my paracord lift line to keep it from banging around while hiking. Even with padded tape to reduce noise, you’ll still make noise going through brush.

I have a summit climber and my solution to all of is issues was to buy a Lone Wolf.

I just bought a summit this past summer. Got it for 25.00 at a thrift sale, I could not, not buy it!!! Thinking about using it for the rifle season, not to keen on them for bow. Hard to put down my loggy climber and loc-on hanger with steps.
