Will be out Monday morning . Snows going to be gone pretty quick .
Sunday slow for me. Young buck 5 min behind a doe at 60 yards in the morning. Nothing seen in evening. Back out early this am and nothing til 8. 3 deer crashing around across the creek bottom from me about 150 yards. Too thick to make out any rack size. Will sit til I need a warmup.
2 bucks locked up on a doe this morning ( in person woods sighting/ no camera).
Back on stand at 2. Set a stand I took down this summer in the creek bottom for tomorrow am on my way into where I'm sitting. Have seen lots of deer passing through there and sign confirms that. Being my last sits til late season I dont mind being a little intrusive.
Very quiet in the morning at B t 2 . Completely dead at BT 3 tonight . Talked to 2 other bowhunters , very quiet . Lockdown ?
3buck on one doe at this afternoon
Opening day rifle in MI, still think folks would be interested in a report. Lots of gunshots until about 10am, then not much after that, just the occasional one here and there. Saw some semi-recent scrapes.
I hunted a spot in Ottawa NF that I had ALL to myself during archery. Today there were so many cars they overfilled the parking and spilled out onto the stret. It's not a suprise, but still shocks suprise every year.
It was like band practifcel out there. From where I set up, I could hear three different people rattling like crazy. One guy was literally rattling for 50 minutes out of the hour the whole morning. Another guy would frantically rattle every single time a gun shot would go off in the distance. Didn't see any bucks, go figure!
Tagged a doe, she was nice enough to face plant down a 100 foot extremely steep ravine. Trails were so rutted by ATV's, my sled and wagon were useless, took me 5 hours to get her within a mile of the car and at that point it was all uphill and straight mud, my legs just gave out. Had to hastily quarter her up and pack her out, my first time doing it in the field. I tried to leave some hide on the meat and it just turned into a hairy mess, will certainly be doing a complete skin the next time.
A few guys tagged some yearling bucks. One was a small 6 pointer with a tiny rack and a super small body. You don't usually see that around here, was kind of interesting.
Hunted my land in Pierce county yesterday morning until 11. Had two year and half old bucks come through a couple times. Saw one 3.5 year old 7 pointer that I have passed numerous times this bow season at 75 yards on a ridge across from me. He was doing the rut trot and grunting with every step. Had 2 stands to hang for gun season so that's what I did the rest of the day. Did have one buck walk right below me as I was 2 sticks high hanging the second stand. I may get out one more time before gun season. I have a feeling we are going to hear of several reports of rutting activity this weekend.
Meeting a fellow forum member this AM to scout my area & check recent sign. All should be ready for this weekend. Sure have missed not being able to hunt for a buck these final two weeks of early bow season,...maybe taking the first good buck to come by isn't always the best thing to do,...a situation I've run into before,...gotta re-think my strategy (again) to stretch my season,...any others feel this way?
I agree Bill, I miss being out there. Gun hunting for me as of saturday but, just not the same. Need some ice now for early season fishing.
Bill, a double edged sword for sure. In one hand we wouldn't normally be hunting if we didn't intend to take an animal that suited us, yet you miss hunting a buck once the tag is filled for those remaining days. I'm sure some people with terribly low numbers might think I sound selfish, but I certainly wish I had a second buck tag. I'd even be content shooting a meat buck, because I actually would prefer rebuilding the deer numbers by leaving the mommas alone. We don't have a shortage of bucks on this farm. I think I have 25 different bucks on camera, and perhaps 10 I'd consider "regulars"? I looked back for several years, and I'm normally filled before November. Is it because deer are more susceptible during pre-rut, or am I itchy? I want venison in the freezer, and hate to go without. I had 19 days left of my vacation after filling my tag, and just couldn't get into the hunt nearly the same, knowing it was only a doe I could take, and with my self regulated rule on shooting only single does without fawns, limits the hunt even further. By the time the gun and muzzle loader season rolls around, I'm most certainly ready to hunt for a buck again. I'm not as loyal to the bow as some. I do not mind using the easier weapon. I've left the woods unscathed, was able to "hunt" deer without intrusion by using the cell cams, and hunting just the perimeter from the observation stands. I'm ready to hunt. All said Bill, I'd never give up late October bow hunting to hunt November, so I choose both lol. Some day I may regress, and use traditional equipment again, and perhaps bow hunt during gun season.
To me the hunt is much more than the kill so I don't mind not getting a deer. My perfect season would be to kill a great buck on the last day of the season.
Only 2 bucks this morning, does and fawn are back together, I’m sure the 4 mature ones are with the right smelly females, still plan on taking the bow Saturday
Yes Case, I definitely feel the same way. Proves its about the chase and not the kill but I dont regret my decision to fill my tag either.
I've had some great years hunting and never tagged an animal. Those years I was always into great animals, but just never got to finnish. The years I did tag, I have so many other things I love to do in the fall, bird hunt, steelhead fish, etc. I do miss the bowhunting and chasing those animals, but I feel a sense of accomplishment with it and use the time for my other passions which I don't get to do as much because I'm chasing deer. I hunt 100% public forest nowadays and chances get slim, but I do love the chase.
Caught the sunrise , it was cold , 22 with a stiff wind. Deer movement has skidded to a halt. I checked all 3 of my cameras & This picture of me is the only one for the last 6 days . Total shutdown .
Got to meet 2 guys at the gun range at 3 to look at their problem guns . Then Meet a guy at the house to scope his new Kimber .
Not giving up I'll be out Wednesday .
Put the pic on because I finally figured out how to get them upright .
Found a guy to go Rattling with Wednesday & take advantage of the wind .
Congrats on that Ruger. My neck will feel better now. I hope a couple of others figure it out.
How do you put the picture in correctly?
I’ve had luck loading pictures correctly ( if I remember to do it ) by clicking on the edit button when you look at your pictures in your photo album On the bottom is 3 symbols Hit the one that looks like a wand Then hit done Then try posting the pic Works when I remember to do it
I bit windy last night, deer were running hard but no shooters.
Just watched a heavy racked 8 point with a doe on my way home from work. Bad picture, he’s he’s bedded on the left.
On stand , 35 degrees with winds gusting to 35 . Gosh this is fun . I need a hot Doe in this swamp . With this wind I'll have Bucks everywhere .
My only deer sighting so far today is the big boy
Fresh out of ladies.
The rut is still on here in Washington Co. Found a scrape with fresh tracks and pee in it. Ever smell that? Way more potent than the water downed stuff from the store.
When you find that vilas, don’t be afraid to roll in it, works every time.
Big timber # 1 , 26 degrees, winds at 20 , nothing, moving, not even tree rats . A ton of traffic on 51 headed north .
Scrape s are untouched for a week now. Lots of. Acorns still on the ground .
Good luck to everyone who's hunting next week. I will be signing out till Thanksgiving, not much service where I will be. Be safe, shoot straight!!!
Yes good luck all! Be safe and enjoy the comeraderie.
Good luck everyone may your freezers be full of tasty treats.
This coming weekend and Thanksgiving week will be a big and exciting time for many on this forum. To my fellow outdoorsmen (and women of course), enjoy the game, and the fields & forests of Wisconsin. Remember, safety first. Good luck to all.
Remember , Treestand accidents kill & cripple more hunters than firearms .
Had a med flight near me last Sunday. Have a friend who has permission to hunt a private 60 a hunter took a fall in the next piece. Med flight landed in a hay field on the land he was hunting to get him over there and transported. Do not know his condition haven't heard anything. So Ruger said it best. Be safe. God bless ( I hate heights) you all
32 degrees , no wind , Too nice . Did see 2 does & a 6 pt .
10 shots fired by 8 AM . Better than last year but nothing like the range wars of 20 years ago .
Very quiet for opening morning. Perfect weather. Either nobody is hunting or lack of targets?
Retro same here. I saw nothing so far but squirrels, but sitting all day nonetheless. Hunting on a 360 acre block. No shots fired here, but probably heard 30 shots total this morning.
Not a single deer for me either and very little shooting
I'm in an ag area which I've hunted for many years. In years past to say the gun hunting pressure was heavy would be an understatement. The hunting dynamic in my area has completely changed. Weird.......
Here as well. Almost everyone here is a bow hunter. Today's gun hunter sits on stand like an archer normally does. Deer drives and poking around are saved for Thanksgiving. Personally, I don't mind. The deer remain rather unpressured for the first few days of the gun season.
50th deer season and 10 minutes after the opening he came almost into my lap. Made it easy for this old guy.
Congrats DT! Glad someone put one down today. I've been waiting for someone to knock one down with a gun
Northern Bayfield county, National Forest, sat all day, heard 10 shots total, two of those shots were over a mile away and the rest god only knows how far, oh ya seen 1 doe.
dead quiet in Vilas county. 100's and 100's of acres, with absolutely no one this year. We'll, all my bucks will probably make it again.
Can confirm, bucks not out today in Vilas. Heard maybe two dozen shots all day when usually it sounds like a war zone. All shots before 10am. Maybe 1 in the afternoon and none in the evening. Very weird opener, but super happy that not too many bucks fell.
I'll take a low-harvest gun season where I do NOT get a buck over a high-harvest gun season where I DO get a buck any day!
At 8:15 this am in Richland county.
Very cool buck Mike. Congratulations!
Tank buck Mike! Congrats!
Like I mentioned earlier. Little shooting and no deer moving. First time not seeing a deer the opener ever. Guess I was due
That’s a beauty, congrats
Nice picture capt mike. Love the barn in the background. Well done nice buck
Congratulations Drop Tine and Capt Mike
Thanks guys, my daughter took the pic. Had I been bowhunting, it would have just been another close encounter.
Nice bucks guys, congrats. I hunted public yesterday, seen 5 does no bucks. Woods were saturated with hunters where I bow hunt public, so I moved to another area less populated. My 2 sons are after it this AM, I took the morning off. Good luck all.
Vilas that is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard but OK whatever.
Saw ten deer opener. Passed on a 15" and fork or six pt. Did shoot a donkey headed doe though. Huge doe. It was slow all day, not much shooting where we were, Western Vernon County.
Congrats guys well done and nice pics
Thats a very cool looking buck Capt. 16PT? Only heard one shot this AM by the house, usually shots all day. Lots of hunters with little action. More vehicles going down my road at 5:30 this AM than I will see in a month after season is over.
Thanks guys, mine would have been a slam dunk bow shot if could keep the nerves together. Yes after 50 years I can still get rattled. LOL Grandson took my photo for me when he came over to help drag it out.
Lots of shooting the first 2 hours then calmed down. Sauk County.
DT, congrats on your deer!
Drop Tine and Capt Mike - congrats to both of you for getting your fine animals. Great jobs guys, well done. Glad to see our forum members meeting with success.

High winds and snow squalls here up in Dunbar area Ground. turned white in 5 minutes At least I must be getting smarter as I age Bailed out of tree stand after 5 minutes this afternoon No deer worth it Tucked not a blowdown now
Man it was cold tonite , winter has arrived . 1 lonely Doe looking for Acorn s . Only 3 shots fired by real hunters all afternoon.
Then you have the " hunters " that are finished " hunting " and must empty their clip by firing their gun . Had a few of those today .
Well at least the badgers won!
Congrats on the bucks guys!! I agree with vilascounty, I would rather not get a buck and have a crappy Opener then a good opener and get a buck. The lower the gun harvest the Better around here,
Last two days have been better after making an adjustment but nothing id like to shoot. 2 doe tags in my pocket that will not be used and hopefully 3 younger bucks that make it past what seaonal structure we have left. My rifle season has come to a close.
Congratulations CaptMike.
I have not been out since Saturday. My youngest son is hunting hard but with no success. I will be mentoring my granddaughter this fri/sat. Good luck to all still at it.
Was able to shoot my buck early Saturday morning. Not many shots heard compared to years in the past. What would your thoughts be on the age? 2.5 or 3.5?
congrats to everyone and good luck to those still out there.
i would be unreal genes for a 2 yr old. with the mass its a 3 yr old imo. only one way to tell for sure.
3 is my guess. Around here, a 3 year old will be around 200 dressed, and can certainly be heavier pre rut. 2 year old dressed will rarely hit 175. That means nothing, but it is something we go by here. Teeth tell the whole story, and I don't care what anyone suggests about aging deer on the hoof. It's not perfect. I look for a leaner/sleeker rear end on a 2 year old. They just don't have that deep breast and big butt that a 3+ year old seems to have. I just butchered a deer with a buddy. Won't score 80 inches, and it's absolutely a 3 year old. The deer hanging was 9 feet stretched with the legs removed to the knee. Nice buck none the less!
Rattled in a nice buck at 4 pm . Came out of the swamp on the run. Threw the antlers down the hill & he walked right to them . About a 140 class ten . He's new to the area
I drew back as he walked down the 25 yard trail , placing the 30 yard pin low on the chest & didn't shoot . He trotted off toward the Oak ridge .
Didn't make sense to shoot . As I close in on age 76 with a bunch of mounts in the man cave & I seldom eat Red meat plus I'll taking grandkids hunting the last 5 days of gun season .
Another reason ? I have been warned about this by other seniors, you start losing you taste for killing . Unless there's a real good & justified reason . Like Crows & Coyotes.
The beauty of the forest & wind whistling thru the pines with the full moon rising was a pretty good Trophy . Stayed till dark & took a lot of pictures .
Ruger, it is a progression. Glad you are still enjoying our great out of doors!
One of my sons shot a meat doe last night on public by my house. Yesterday I was talking to the farmer that has a field next to the public. He says he gets between 20 and 30 ag permits every year. He said he usually doesn't fill any until hunting is over so the hunters have first crack at them.
Trout, the ag tags are another concern, I feel for the farmers but sometimes it’s abused like anything else, I saw an area where the population was destroyed during eab years, all the farmers friends loaded up for buck permits to not shoot the antlerless on there land, does went first then nubbers then nothing.
I don.t know the whole story, I do know he owns a ton of land. and there is always alot of deer in the fields around there.
Back to bowhunting. Had a small 8 come in right at closing. Bow 1/2 way to the ground. LOL only thing seen tonight. Two shot were all I herd this afternoon.
Been sitting every morning and night, haven't even laid eyes on a buck. Does emerging from swamp like clockwork at 4:00pm. Can't find powder or pellets or primer anywhere around me. I can't believe people panic bought muzzle loader stuff. C'mon! The good news is that means will get a chance to fill firearm tag with a bow during the tail end of muzzle loader season.
Grandson Liam is having a great time . Watching Turkeys & Woodpeckers . 49 degrees, no wind & no Deer .
Cold tomorrow, might help .
Beautiful day in the woods. I do alot of scouting during gun season for next bow season. The rut sign is fresh and visible. First observation. Nobody is hunting. Second observation is I found some very impressive buck sign in multiple locations. Good to see after so many dismal seasons in the big woods. I hope mother nature doesn't get to grumpy this winter. It would be nice to get a bunch of animals through the winter in good shape. Bad news is I ran across far more wolf sign than I have in some time. Figures...a few deer finally running around and they always show up.....
Still some rut going on, saw 3 bucks hot on a doe yesterday, today was my first skunk of 2021
OK, Ruger. That's great to see. Love it but I thought you had the photo thing figured out!
Smokey, how do you edit a photo? There are no options with cell phones to my knowledge.
Noc
I edit/adjust the photos on my phone and then save them before posting here and they always post correctly here.
Thanks DT. A little annoying but I guess that is the only way.
If your photo appears turned after posting it here, you can rotate the image by using the image tools. Look at the image, in the upper right corner there is an "image tools" button. Select that and there you can rotate the image or delete it.
Smokey , thought I had it fixed . Bowsite is the only place that I have this problem .
The young man pictured is a future hunt star . Crack shot with gun or bow . He asked to sit late last nite so he could " hear " the woods come alive .
He wanted to hunt Dark to Dark Thanksgiving but I reminded him that family is always priority over all . We will do Dark to Dark Friday .he's also a top ranked Goalie , that cuts into his winter hunting .
Sat this morning from sunup til 830. No deer, but the squirrels seemed particularly active. Wish they grew bigger around here and they'd be worth hunting.
I had a good view of the road and saw three different shiny $40,000 trucks slowly rolling very slowly down the road presumably looking to spot a buck in the open maple stands.
Been hunting hard all season and am running out of steam. Happy thanksgiving, all.
Oh and someone decided to, I kid you not, stab one of my cameras with a knife. Didn't take the camera, just the SD card and left the camera with a few knife wounds. Some crazies out there. Now their knife is gonna be dulled, too.
Smokey- i do not have that option with a phone? I'll have to go the route DT mentioned.
Noc, don't you use a computer at home to look at Bowsite?
Sometimes it can be how you hold the phone when you take the picture. Horizontal or vertical.
I strictly use my phone for bowsite but I will rotate the photo from now on. I agree, it's a bit annoying and I do it all the time.
I came to the conclusion that my photos show what I want them to show no matter if they are sideways, upside down, right-side up or correct, LOL.
Well now bowsite is just playing with me! LOL
That's a neat photo Noc!!!!
Thanks guys and thank you knifeman.
Nice pic Noc. Stuff like that is one of the “extras” we can get from trail cams.
No family in the area, so spent thanksgiving on the stand in Iron County, UP. Oh man, what a day. 14 degrees and constant 15-20 mph wind in my face. I climbed up about 25 feet to get over all the saplings..... I always get a little nervous at that height. Saw what was either an orphaned fawn or a lone yearling doe at about 120 yards at last light. I have a doe tag, so I would of taken the shot but my tree was swaying so much that I couldn't keep the crosshairs on point at that range and the shooting lane was a very small opprotunity. Oh well.
I actually saw a fair amount of cars at various national forest entries compared to recent days. I'm guessing people throwing down bait for closing weeknd of rifle in MI.
Sat the 1st 2 hours & the last 2 hours . 19 degrees with a brutal wind . No Deer seen . Not 1 single shot .
Ruger, glad you were out there in the wind with me! I really thought today would be a good one. High temps yesterday, drop today, and a few days out from the opener seemed like a recipe for deer. I also heard no shots.
Watched this hawk nail a squirrel yesterday, live sighting no call cam.
Deer were on the move this AM. Took a ride to see how many hunters were out near one of my spots. Seen 7 deer in a 5 min ride. 4 which were coming out of where I bow hunt. At least 3 were does, 2 fawns and 2 unknown. 9 degrees at 7:30 this AM. Waiting for my grand daughter to arrive and we will be heading out for a mentored hunt. She has today and tomorrow AM. She says she is holding out for a buck. Good luck to all that are still at it.
Checked some SD cards today. Mature buck 50 yards from my Tuesday stand at 10:30am Tuesday. I left at 9:30am as I figured all bucks would be hiding by that time and I was pretty cold. You just never know. Stay in the stand and don't give up! No other pics of movement on any other cameras. I'll be back out tonight.
Love seeing bucks survive a heavily pressured opener. Not anticipating much pressure this weekend, but we'll see. Can't find any black powder so excited to take the rail of my climber come Sunday. Shoulder feels awesome after not shooting for two weeks. Was supposed to catch up on life and fix my plow this weekend, but how can I stay in when I know there is a buck walking around??
A friend shot a nice buck in the big woods. When they were skinning it they found the deer had been shot with birdshot in the hind quarter. I never will be able to grasp the amount of low life idiots we have out there.... Can't even imagine what all goes on out there....
That was painful to read. I'd like to put some birdshot in that persons hind quarter. Purposefully injuring a deer (or any animal) for no reason requires a pretty awful and cruel person.
No rifle shots heard in my neck of the woods today, although I was not outside during prime hours.
Maybe 12-14 scattered shots this afternoon in Waukesha. I’m guessing a few groups doing some small drives. Saw two does and took one.
Seen two deer at 4;10 yesterday on the opposite side of the creek at about 100 yrds. Too thick to tell what they were. Heard maybe 10 shots in the afternoon.
I had two years past with birdshot in them. Back in the wild pheasant days
Retro, probably the same one who stole my camera!!!
Liv, There's an army of them out there.....
Hunted this morning with my grand daughter and saw nothing but snowflakes. Got in the woods at 6AM. A couple hunters came walking though about 10 am and nothing moving. It was a wet morning sit but we gave it a shot. It was really pretty in the woods with the snow coming down, overlooking a creek bottom. Calendar picture scenery. Done for the year now. Come on ice :).
Well the 2021 gun hunt is almost finished. I to this point am having a bad year. I've only hunted 4 days not counting tomorrow but geez. I have seen 4 deer total. My hunting buddy has seen over 30. He got a nice 10 and a huge doe the first weekend. I did not see a deer until Tuesday morning. And we hunt about 400 yards apart. Maybe tomorrow. You know what I think it is? They are scared of me! Petrified. That's gotta be it huh?
Would you guys stop using SEEN when you should be using SAW?
Perfect evening , 28 degree , cloudy, no wind . " Saw " a huge Fischer & 2 Turkey's. The trail pictured is coming out of the swamp right past my stand . In big Timber this as good as it gets but it went dead 3 days ago .
I would go ice fishing tomorrow except we have no ice . Weird year .
Ok smokey..."seen" is not used as a stand alone verb....unless it is paired with words such as "have", "had" or"was". So I paired it with "have" which is correct. Now we are all smarter than we were this morning. Thanks to you!
Well I took off 4 days for muzzle loader, but decided to check out a stand I ordinarily leave for late rut for bow or muzzle loader. Well, I haven't hunted since Monday. Tonight I went out there, and it was more about checking it out, but I brought the rifle of course. 30 minutes before , they came out of the bedding area as they normally do, and crossed in front of me at 50 yards. First a single doe which I took, and I'd certainly suggest she's a Boone and Crockett doe lol. I dropped her with a heart shot. Minutes later, 7 more baldies and five bucks. It sort of suggests that sanctuary places are where those deer disappear to during lockdown or gun season. As a kid when hunting during gun season, I'd wonder why I'd see 50 deer on the opener, and 3 days in, the woods would be vacant? I always imagined the deer must be somewhere right? Well, they are. They're simply not on that public land I was hunting, and they're held up in those little places that are left alone. This spot hasn't been hunted since late November of last year. Unlike many places, it sees very little pressure, and this long post, best describes the difference between good and bad hunting. Often, that difference is private versus public, and obvious pressure versus lack of it. This is what many people are witnessing. By the way, those 5 bucks were up and comers, and every last one of them were yearlings. I won't shoot a doe with fawns, and I won't shoot a yearling. These self imposed restrictions are my own. Surely easier having nice private property to hunt, but most of the bad hunting is a result of sharing the resource with everyone, with no restrictions, except everyone wants the same result, and everyone else is the one doing it wrong, because everyone is pulling from that same limited resource.
Ruger, I would kill to have trails like that by me!
Ice season is not looking good up here. The lakes have very thin ice, with a blanket of heavy insulating snow. That is bad news for further ice formation, with no melting temperatures in the forecast. Could be a repeat of two years ago when early thin ice + 2 early warm snow storms led to horrible ice conditions all season despite a very cold winter. Fingers crossed. I'm ready to set up some tip ups and sit back and relax.
5 does, 4 fawns, and 2 small bucks out below my house tonight. 30 single/doubles shots heard. Only heard 3 opening day. I think deer are just coming out of lockdown.
Back from the North Woods camp Now hunting Kewaunee and Brown Co Filled one of my doe tags tonight sitting in a tripod stand in the snow and sleet overlooking a mixture of pines, red whips and grass Having fun ,Daughter saw 8 and brother saw 6 but no decent shot offered ,My son took out my 4 yr old grandson last night for his first hunt and they got to see 6 deer, Paased on any shot waiting for them to get closer But good encounters
Friend texted me they got another buck, this one had bird shot imbedded in the front shoulder. Every gun season I'm left feeling Wisc hunters suck!!!! This one is no different.....
Years ago I bit into a chop from a buck I shot. Hit something metal and it was steel T-shot. Chipped my damn tooth.
Years ago I bit into a chop from a buck I shot. Hit something metal and it was steel T-shot. Chipped my damn tooth.
I saw 9 deer last night all on CBS watching Rudolph.
You find lots of bird shot in bears
Bob, great pic, amazing how a little fresh cool wisconsin air can put you to sleep.
Thanks Rick ,We made a couple of walks at noon today My son and a friend moseying around and 3 of us siting Moved deer I actually saw 3 different bucks in a span of 2 minutes All smaller We all saw deer ,Sat the last 2 hrs and my brother missed a doe in a group of 5 Good last day sightings Saw quite a few people out hunting Rifle still open where I live ( metro area ) and it will be the muzzle loader for our other areas
When I was a kid helping a local taxidermist skin critters it was amazing how many Bears & Deer had bird shot, 22 caliber bullets ,& others in them.
LOL, just skinned a bear for a mount, guess what I found!! birdshot.
This is wild to read. What are people doing? Bird hunting then see a deer and shoot it for fun with no intention of killing it? Or maybe they are dense enough to think that birdshot will take down the deer and are trying to poach it? I really don't get it
I know for a time period for a few years almost all our bears had birdshot in them, not to mention some had an eye which was blind which I'm sure was from someone shooting them in the head. Don't they know they make riot control shells for the really nuisance bears.
I forgot to add broad heads . Found those in lots of critters including 2 that I harvested in Waupaca.
Bears get it because of the bird feeder deal. By the way,, your an ASSHOLE if you do this! Why in the hell would someone shoot deer in the boonies with birdshot? I don't believe it's a birdhunter walking up on them. There are private shacks in the area. My guess is this is happening at a baitpile at a shack. Why? Who knows.....The world is full of mental illness....
100 % right Retro , My neighborhood are a bunch of Bird feeding maniacs . Last year a Mom with 2 cubs did about 1200 bucks of bird feeders damage . They wanted to declare war on the Bears . I showed them How to Bear proof their feeders .
The stores specializing in Bird feeding & entertainment need to do a better job of training their customers .
