Went out with the bow this morning - did not hear hardly any shooting - not even at a distance. Was pretty surprised. Saw 3 small bucks and 1 doe and 3 ? LOL.
Anyone else out today?

I bowhunted too in Jefferson county and it was the same. Not many shots. I know people don’t hunt like they use to. This is the first time I hunted opening day in Jefferson county in 20 years and it use to sound like a war. Saw one barely legal buck chasing a doe.

Haven’t heard any. Didn’t go out. Haven’t seen any I want to shoot. Trying to leave them alone and hope most stay on farm. I’ll probably take 2-3 does next week to stock freezer back up

I was out at Burnsville lake WMA yesterday morning. I heard around 15-20 shots before 9:00 including one from my son. Several were 3-4 shots from one gun.

Lets see some of those 150 and 160 class deer. There has to be some that made it in 12 years.

If there were any 150-160 the neighbors shot them. I have moved from 2.5 year olds to 3.5 and a few 4.5 year olds. I’m doing the scattered clear cuts for the warbler program to create thick sanctuaries for better cover hoping to get more carryover

Wow Wayne. That’s a lot. All is quiet in Jeff county. You guys would be proud of me. I passed up this lil spike. Saw him coming and I could have reached out and touched him. I was in my ghillie suit.

They are free range deer. That’s the chance u take passing on them but I think it’s worth it because some get another year . I don’t have to kill one just to say I killed a buck. I like eating does better
